Constantly expired goods on the shelves. Produce always looks questionable. Bad vibes from the owner of the store and the manager George. There is an air of anger, violence, and dishonesty that is palpable.

Ok I spend about 250.00 here every week. Love the fresh turkey, veggies are great.
Today, late in the day, I needed to grab a few things.
It was a full day, and I had low blood sugar.
I grabbed a powder sugar stale donut.
Took a few bites, and tossed it in the coffee area.
Obviously I was planning on paying for it stale or not.
As I proceeded through the store I had the feeling I was part of the great train robbery.
People in hot pursuit, on the radios etc.
Then when I approached the checkout, this woman swarmed me.
Then not to be believed.
Why is there powdered sugar in your shopping cart.
This was followed by my huge confession.
I had half a stale donut but I will pay for a whole one.
The entire staff has me surrounded.
Anyway I just paid 7.99 for strawberries 2 days ago covered in mold.
I guess its stop and shoppe or King Kullen from now on.
Never ever stepping foot in there again.

Shoprite used to be my preferred store. I was so excited when they first opened, but now I will never shop there again. They have horrible food control. I'm always finding expired items. The first time was when I bought a thing of "fresh" parmesan cheese, that was 3 weeks past the date. I bought it back for a refund and informed customer service that there was still 10+ on the shelf. When I went back a week later no one had pulled them!! Since then I constantly check dates, and it's horrible. I've found bacon, butter, milk, just so much past the date!! But my ultimate was last night. I bought a 6$ pizza, idk why I didn't think to check the date, I just didn't think to check a frozen item. IT EXPIRED FEBRUARY 2024!!! I'm disgusted, shame on you Shoprite. If this is the quality of the food on the shelves, I can only imagine the standards for the deli or meats. Never again

I love Shoprite and it is my go to grocery store. I assumed all locations are similar, however, that is not the case with the Riverhead location. The main issue is with the deli counter folks (2 woman) who were working were extremely rude on 9/2 at 4pm to not only myself, but another customer as well. They refused to acknowledge anyone waiting for service and continued to ignore the woman when she asked a question, not once, not twice, but 3 times in a row. I sat there waiting patiently saying nothing while they cut meats for nobody that was standing at the counter - I assume pre-orders? After both workers cut 3 bags worth each, I inquired to see if they could help me and they proceeded to ignore me. I was honestly shocked as I had waited 5 minutes without saying a word, and with nobody else around me, they simply refused to serve me. As I left this store, I was asked by homeless loitering outside if I could donate some money for them to buy food which I found to be uncomfortable.

ShopRite Riverhead is the worst supermarket in Riverhead. Store associates are so unfriendly, including the store manager. Never go there again.

I was there this morning at 6am and the sliding doors were locked,I check the exit door too and obviously it won't open from outside and finally somebody came out from the exit with "i dont wanna be here attitude" at 6:15 am after I waited for 15 min outside,I asked them why the doors still locked is supposed to be open at 6am and they said I have to get in from the exit door and I said i was there and I was knocking on the door but that door won't open from outside, finally I get in I get what I want and it took me 3 min then I had to wait at least 5 more min at the checkout bcz there was no single person at the checkout , thx them I'm late to work and I lost more than 20 min. I hope someone in charge see that review and make them open the door on time.
