Couldnt even get past the phone call to get my cat in for anti-nausea drugs. He has beem treated all week by Penfield. The Dr here said, without even looking at his records in have or any discussion with me to see his records and bloodwork results that my pet "needs to be hospitalized and to go the buffalo." Sad, and unprofessional. Take care of your baby and go somewhere else. It's such a horrible feeling knowing you can't help your pet and people like this so-called dr don't even want to try and make phone judgments.

My first time coming here was about a year ago to get a second opinion on my cat where they told me the x-rays another place took MONTHS before showed that she had the dead bodies of her kittens in her which over the next couple of months caused her to go septic. They noticed what multiple trips to another vet did not in a matter of minutes. They helped me put my baby down, the visit cost a fraction of where the original place would've been. And expecting nothing from them after that visit a week later they sent me a card with all the techs signatures telling me they were sorry for my loss. They will have my business as long as I have pets.

In one of the most difficult times in life, and under extraordinary circumstances, I found compassion and solace offered by the staff and by Dr.Buck. My beloved GSD was treated with dignity and infinite kindness. I am incredibly grateful to everyone there.

I'm done trying to go to this place. At almost every visit, Dr. Buck is condescending and rude. She doesn't listen to owners about their pets. Last year she gave my cat medicine for a cold. One of the side effects was constipation, but my cat was screaming and writhing in agony. We had to take him back to the vet, and she charged us for an emergency visit even though it was the medicine she prescribed that caused the trouble. At this last visit, she ignored my husband when he asked her not to spary this pheromone that she uses to keep the cats calm because it has the opposite effect on him. He normally loves going to the vet and loves people. She insisted despite my husband begging her not to. She said she did it with every cat(even though she didn't do it an hour earlier when our other cat was there). He went nuts and got upset, and she kept saying, "He's just stressed." He normally has a great time and gets a bunch of love when he's there, and she ruined it. Not to mention, my husband was so stressed out about the whole thing. I'm sorry to the techs that work there, from my experience are all super nice.

The nurses and techs were very nice and friendly, as soon as the vet walked in she immediately took over. Very rudely, mind you. This isn’t the first time I have been here but it will be the last! My visits in the past have been good, I never had an issue with any of the staff or the vet, I have no clue what changed but the vet gave me an attitude this time, she thought it was okay to speak to me anyway she wanted and she was very judgmental and tried to pin blame on me for not getting my cat spayed as soon as possible (my cat is still a baby) and I also haven’t decided on that, but it should be my decision! Overall a very horrible experience that has made my decision to not come back!

Very responsive to my need of answers. My regular vet referred me to specialist in Syracuse. (It was a week before I heard back from them, and I told them I didn't need them any longer.) Dr Buck was able to see my dog within 24 hrs. Rochester lacks emergency/specialist services at this time. Closest services are Buffalo, Syracuse, Cornell. Urgent Care places are helpful but can not do everything.

They've provided excellent care for all three of our pets, and always keep us up to date on best care practices for our cats and dog. Dr. Buck and the technicians have a lot of care and compassion for each pet, and the desk staff always remembers our animals by name and are genuinely excited to say hi.

I have used these wonderful professionals for 3 different pets over 15 years. They always make time for us when there is an issue. I was so happy to learn that Dr Buck is now working to open a non-profit 24 hour emergency vet office in Rochester. Proud to know her as a friend of our community and protector of 4 legged families.

I cannot praise the Animal Hospital of Rochester and the professionals who work there more. I have two dogs that I have been taking here for years and time and time again the staff show that they will do anything and everything for the animals that are brought in. My German Shepherd specifically, who has extreme anxiety and fear, but naturally is viewed as a vicious animal because he is huge and loud, is treated like the actual baby that he is in this office. He has many health issues and Dr. Buck specifically ensures that he receives the best care all while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both the workers and my dog. She understands animals so well, there are times I swear she can read their minds. While an assumption, I can confidently say that any of the negative reviews for this veterinary office are most likely from pet owners that are not willing to put in the time and effort to appropriately care for their animal. If you are not capable of hearing constructive criticism regarding the way that you take care of your pets, look elsewhere - these vets and vet techs care about the health and wellbeing of your animal above all else and will tell you the honest truth as all good professionals should. To the staff at Animal Hospital of Rochester, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do!
