I had fraudulent activity on my account, I called and DIa was the Cust service rep who answered the phone, she was short and snippy almost made me feel like I was in the wrong because someone used my card fraudulently. I wish ESL would train the cust service people to have a little more compassion . She was just rude and really didnt want to help me at all. I have been with ESL for over 30 years so this is sad that I am actually considering leaving.

About a year ago I co signed a loan for my niece because she had no credit. I just found out that she was approved as a co signer on a loan for someone I don't know. The dealer was Hoselton Auto Mall and the bank ESL Federal Credit union. How ESL became the bank I don't know considering that out of the 8 inquiries that were performed none of them were from ESL. What was the basis for there decision to approve her as co signer for this loan. Her credit score at the time was 603 or lower. She also had an existing loan on her report. HOW DID SHE GET APPROVED AS A CO SIGNER FOR THIS LOAN? She also doesn't make a lot of money. She is a security Guard. I believe this loan is fraudulent and predatory. I believe she was taken advantage of and I would like her name removed from this loan.

This is a message to ESL corporate specifically. I have never had an issue with any representative that I've spoken or messaged with. --TLDR-- How is it that on a Tuesday at midday, I'm on hold for 64 minutes? The reason has to be a lack of phone/chat agents, right? I'd love to be proved wrong, but this seems like a matter of under-staffing to save on cost, which hurts both employees and customers. I'm aware that banks make the most money from business ventures, and I'm aware that the ordinary lower/middle class customer doesn't generate as much revenue for a bank. Without us, the banks live on. However, you would think that the people at the top of the ladder would have some empathy for the ordinary person. --Long explanation-- I called the assistance phone number for a minor issue, and was on hold for 64 minutes. I began my call at 1:35pm EST on a Tuesday, which is more confusing as to the hold time. After 50 minutes of waiting on the phone, I used the online chat feature and got a response after 9 minutes, which is reasonable. The agent I spoke with helped me immediately, and I was thankful to them. However, I couldn't help but notice that there was a queue of 12 people ahead of me who were also waiting for assistance. For my own curiosity, I waited on the phone until I finally reached an agent, then finally hung up. 64 minutes. Thankfully my issue was minor and did not require immediate attention. This definitely sucks for anyone with a true emergency. So, my message to ESL corporate: how is this practice sustainable? I'd assume there are only a handful of associates who answer phone calls. If that's the case, and the hold times are this outrageous on a Tuesday afternoon, how does this sustain on busy days? Did the Covid era give you all a reason to cut associates and run the business bare-bones? You're actively hurting your regular customers and your associates.

After spending over 10 years as a member my wife and I relocated. Trying to get our own money has been absolute torture. The second we decided to leave, they went from helpful to trying there hardest to prevent us from getting our money. I would have thought after all these years of loyalty they would be better. I was going to keep a few accounts open with them for when we visit but now will never do business with ESL again.

Chestnut location somehow thought somebody else was me because apparently we have same name. They allowed him to come in on 3 separate occasions to deposit into my account. They also give him my membership number, checking/saving account numbers, and allowed him to change my personal account information (phone number/address). I lost no money in this situation, but it’s insanely absurd that this could even happen. I’ve been a member for 10 years, I can’t believe this happen.

I have been a customer with them for years when they were still attached to Kodak ever since I reopen my account with them my account constantly keeps. Getting hacked coz I mean keeps getting hacked. I had to keep going through debit cards. I'm not understanding why and this is at the corporate office after I use the ATM. I cannot deal anymore today's last day. I will be a member with them and that's all the ways I can't do this anymore. So I define you another bank in institution I am beyond fed up and p***** off. This is ridiculous I should not have to have my account. Keep getting hacked and it makes me think I'll go too. I do not want to chip in a card so people have to look for a bank account. Please find somewhere else this is not the place for you and if the weather 41starttheywouldn'tgetnothingatall

I named ESL as successor Trustee for my Supplemental NeedsTrust when my son was a child. I discussed all the details included on my trust with Trust officer Jaqueline Riorden. One of the Provisions was for my son to live rent-free in the house. When my son got older I made changes to the Trust. I contacted Jaqueline who told me that my son should pay rent. I was very upset about it. I contacted the Trust Supervisor Susan M. Herendeem who told that she could not discuss the trust with me because It was a Living Trust and I was still alive. To me this is unethical, disgraceful and a shameful because I'm the only one who can protect and speak for my son who has Special needs and can easily be taken advantage of.I would Advise anybody with a Special needs family member to consult with their Attorney before choosing ESL to manage their trust and their finances. Don't trust ESL to manage your Trust or Finances.I'm sure that there are Federal or State Agencies that regulate Trust Services because ESL does not have anyone to manage or oversee the agency.ESL is no longer named my Successor Trustee.

VERY slow. I've come to this back on several occasions just to get my back card activated after getting no where with the phone number and after five trips to this bank all they can tell me is call the phone number.

They don’t care about their customers no matter how long you are be with them. They cleared a check deposited to my account and then took back the deposited money, cited that the check was bad so my concern is why they didn’t confirm before they cleared that. They give support to scammers and do not cooperate their clients.

Myself and my wife have had an account with ESL for a long time since at least 10 years for me and 10 years for her. We both have got many short term loans paid in full and on time. We tried to do a refinance cost us 700 dollars for them to deny us and them to tell us how many things are wrong with the house cosmetic paint chipping side walk needs repairs and other various things and we have 45 days to fix it or now refi ok our credit scores though not great but still good dropped 50 points so it knocked us down a lot. We decided ok let's try a home equity we clearly even with issues had equity told them the other credit pull crushed our score and please note account. We do the home equity application only to be denied and told now we need a co signer. If I was new to them and didn't have so much good standing loans in the past I could see this so much for relationship I will be closing all accounts and never do business with them again clearly they don't know what a good standing relationship is. I know had the first pull not happen we would of got the loan I don't care what they say house is collateral and proven to be worth more than what's owed. I'm going to be closing all my accounts with them as will my wife.
