I've taken a few ceramics classes here and even rented a shelf for a while. The classes were wonderful; great instructors and a super welcoming atmosphere. I think it's decent for students or people looking to try something new, but if you're a ceramics artist looking for a studio to work out of, I don't think this is a the place. They're overloaded, so it will take weeks to get glazed pieces back. Many of mine were chipped, had bits of the kiln shelf stuck to the bottom, or were just lost once I put them aside to be fired. My tools were stolen and never returned on a few occasions. My pieces were constantly moved around while i was gone. The department rarely answers the phone and the voicemail was always full. All in all, there were just too many frustrating factors and I left. Super disappointing especially after waiting months for a shelf to open up.

I visited for the Flower City Invitational, and it was great. The art was beautiful. The volunteers, staff, and artists were all very friendly. And the snacks were delicious.

My son and my nephew taking art classes for free thanks to a program between flower city and their school. It’s awesome. They are very polite and respectful. My sister and I are very happy with the program and the tutors.

Took a beginner wheel throwing class here and had a great experience! Learned and lot and had fun doing so. Covid hit towards the end of the class session and 1 or 2 of the final classes were cancelled and we were told we would be refunded for those cancelled classes. I never received my refund even after leaving multiple voice messages.

This is a boon for the local community. There are three parts, the pottery, the photography studio and the printing and book arts studio. All three have classes, or you can rent space from them with the proper membership. There are workshops offered though out the year. Make sure to get on both their mailing list and their e-mail list to find out what is coming up. They are still masking for safety.

Community, for many of us is essential to our well being and social needs. During COVID this center has been a superstar at fostering a safe and warm community space. STAFF- Led by an all star team, It's the staff here who actively build a strong sense of community and support. CLASSES- I have taken two classes by Mr. Mark Watts, who is extremely thorough, intelligent, kind, and an amazing teacher. If the other teachers are anything like him, this place is rooted in value and invested in supporting you. COVID precautions- are all in place at the center. Requirements for mask wearing, temperature taking, social distancing and hand sanitizer galore. ADVICE- If you're on the fence, do it, take the class! Besides growing a new skill, you'll get to share space with these top notch humans.
