Had a last minute cancellation for my hair appointment..on my birthday. I found Vee by luck and she got me in and got me right and saved my birthday. She was professional and the experience was great and I’ll definitely be back.

This was my last of 4 appointments to start my locs. The locs are turning out wonderfully. With collaboration, the stylist Vee has helped me with the vision I had. I have decided that with her help again I will do 3 more appointments to get more comfort with this style. Collaboration is key.1st of the next 3 for dreadlocks and wig creation. I've been coming to this salon for a few years now. COVID set me back a bit from my regular schedule but when I was able to get back in I was estatic. My hair was starting to break off and Vee was able to get it back on track. It's now getting shine back and the length is also coming back. My hair growth and health was my goal and she was able to help me get there and maintain it.Service: Hair extensions

I need to start by saying that I am a huge supporter of black owned businesses and that the Rochester area does not have a lot of beatuy salons that cater to the black community but in the end I was not pleased with the services provided. Overall, she's wasn't very professional. She was late to my hair appointment and was drinking alcohol the entire time. I wouldn't have mind so much if she was nursing a glass of wine for the duration of my appointment., but by the time I left she was Clearly tipsy. I had my hair done by Vee it turned out nice but I just wanted to mention a couple of things. My consult was scheduled on Saturday before my appointment on Tuesday. On Saturday she was an hour late, when I got into the salon she had another client sitting waiting. She then told me to sit in her chair, but then proceeded to wash the clients hair so then I had to wait again. My appointment was 11am and didn't get out of there until 12:30pm very unprofessional. Despite my better judgment I went back on Tuesday. She seemed to be in better spirits but I felt she over charged me. She charged me $95 on top of $25 deposited. Isn't the deposit supposed to be deducted from the cost of service. Also I felt she cut too much of my hair and then put some black filler powder saying there were spots you can see my scalp. My scalp was itching so bad I had to wash my hair. Never again.Services: Haircut

Very very rude. Before I even open opened her door to talk to her she was already screaming how can I help you. No wonder why people complain about our black owned business. A hi and smile makes everything warm and welcoming.

Tv Really loud and was also focused on the show. I got burned several times as a result. I asked her to please put a few spiral curls in after she flat ironed my hair and she told me that she usually charge an extra$25. I was shocked when I didn't answer quick enough she rudely said "you hear me " it took her less than 5 minutes. honestly the end result was fine but customer service sucks can't recommend her.

It was my first time going over extensions wigs and such. She took her time and explained everything to me and made sure I understood the ins and out and how to do the booking. She made me feel completely comfortable about something I have never done before. I look forward to using her services for a long time!

I do not like posting negative reviews of small business, especially black owned businesses. And to help prove that I value the service industry I drove 2.5 hours for the service and still tipped on top of payment even though I was unhappy.I am relatively new to the area and needed a new stylist, so this was my first time meeting Vee. The experience was not good, and I will not be returning.I arrived 10 minutes early, and waited outside in the cold because she was late. All in the total time that I waited about 20 minutes for her to arrive.At the very end of the final confirmation email it states that hair must be detangled. There is no mention of this requirement on the website because if it was there, I wouldn’t have booked her. I believe detangling is part of the job of a stylist. But I did not see it which is my fault. Once inside she became visibly agitated that my hair wasn’t detangled.My issue is that while detangling my hair, she was extremely rough and raked the comb through my hair. There was no attempt to gently detangle it at all. Her frustration was clear in her body language, lack of conversation, and how she tossed the combs in the salon. I feel like an appropriate response from her should have been along the lines of “well next time you have to come detangled” or “now you know for your next appointment”. Not disrespect and attitude toward a customer that’s patronizing your business during a pandemic.During the service she made no attempts to have a conversation or to ask me about my normal hair care. She didn’t even speak to me until that last 20 minutes of the service.She clearly didn’t want me there and was careless with her work. So careless that she burned the top of my ear. I have pictures of you don’t believe me.Her work is good, but it’s not worth paying for the service or the effort to drive that far just to be treated like that.I did not read through the entire email, which once again is my fault, but as a service provider that doesn’t give you the ok to be rude and careless. I will not be returning to Vee and I do not recommend her services to anyone.**EDIT in response to owner:1. Example of service description that does not mention detangling. Also in the salon I showed you the confirmation email that did not have a statement about detangling.Also, if it was clearly made known that it wasn’t a requirement, then why did you tell me that I was supposed to come to the salon with it detangled? Why did you not charge me extra if that is your normal policy? It wasn’t made well known; that was just your expectation. There isn’t consistency with your polices in your descriptions or media contact with clients.2. I hired you for a service. It’s is your responsibility to set the tone and to create a welcoming environment, not the client.3. I’ve attached a picture of my “alleged” burn. By that point you’d made it clear with body language how you felt; there was nothing left for me to say to you.My review was an honest overall depiction of my experience. I gave you credit and kudos where warranted like the quality of your work, but the rest was lacking. The review was strictly for other prospective customers who might want a straightforward opinion, and not a dig at you. If that was what I wanted, I wouldn’t have even tipped you.
