Update as of Feb 18: This location is on the list of stores that are closing due to the company declaring bankruptcy. There will be one left in the Rochester area, and it's a much smaller footprint than this store.
What happened to JoAnn's in Henrietta? This location used to be nice even just 6 months ago, but now it's run down, dingy, and theres unopened boxes everywhere. So much of this store looked like it's seen better days - front door is rusted, floors are dingy, and counters look worn. They also don't supply paper bags any more for purchases, you have to buy a plastic reusable bag and they don't allow you to bring in your own bag from another retailer.

Recently I placed an order for Chicago Bears Fabric. It was placed on 11/30/24 and there were no details on how long it would take to get my order or any information on how to check for updates. So I went into this store and I asked them if they were able to help me with an online order. The employee who I was speaking to rolled her eyes and said let me get the store manager. The store manager came up and asked what I needed, I asked her if she is able to look up an order for me to give me a status update. It was for a project for Christmas and I was just wondering if it would arrive in time. She told me that they were all very busy and that I shouldn't expect my order. She was incredibly rude and condescending. I understand that this time of year people often are not nice to retail workers but I approached her nicely asking a simple question and she dismissed me and made me feel like crap for even asking. She asked me what my order was and when I told her she goes oh yeah the Chicago stores are really busy so don't expect that any time soon. She then turned and walked away from me without any further discussion.
I left feeling incredibly deflated and dismissed. I didn't know that they couldn't look up the orders and I was just trying to see if they had any more information than I did. What made this situation worse is that the next day I looked up my order number online to see if I could get an ETA and find out my order was CANCELLED. There is no email from Joanns letting me know, no notification, no apology. If I hadn't looked it up I would still be sitting here waiting for my fabric. This is an incredibly disheartening experience with Joanns and the lack of communication or willingness to help a customer was so rude. I am very disappointed and wished that a company of this size would have a better process in place for something like this.

I was returning an item. I went to the return counter. I put the box on the counter and pulled out my phone to show the young woman working there the order information in my email. Another woman, a costumer, showed up and the girl behind the counter suddenly stopped processing my order and started tending to the other woman's sale, literally saying that because she had a purchase and I had a return, she took precedence.
I've been around a pretty long time and have never seen anything like it. Just unbelievable. Then she seemed to check herself and, backpedaling, said it was because I had been at the wrong end of the counter. But I had been there first and we were mid transaction. Doesn't make sense.
I almost never leave bad reviews, but someone needs to talk to this girl about how she treats consumers, whether they are returning or buying.

I really like the large yarn selection JoAnn fabrics offer. Lots of other nice options also. My only problem is feeling hassled at times trying to use my coupons.

Went in to purchase a Viking Sewing machine that was on sale until 4/1. Not actually because this store is closed Easter. Went on Saturday 3/30 at 6 pm (store closes at 9 pm) to purchase the sewing machine and the store refused to sell it to me because technically the Viking area is like a mall kiosk and the lady that works it went home early. Also they will not honor the sale price if I come back Monday, which I will NOT.
