RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center) is a great place for lifelong learning and fun. Visitors can explore three floors of interactive exhibits that appeal to both children and adults. Highlights include the Expedition Earth exhibit with recreations of mastodons and other ice-age animals, live demonstrations on electricity, and the “Science On a Sphere,” which displays NASA and NOAA data on hurricanes, volcanoes, and more in a large 3-D sphere. The museum offers many engaging activities, such as the tornado simulator, water play with magnets, climbing light interactions, and displays about the universe and local history. There are also indoor animal exhibits, including the bayonet and sword display, and outdoor areas like the RMSC Cumming Nature Center with six miles of scenic trails. The museum is very educational, with exhibits about Indigenous Peoples, dinosaurs, rocks, minerals, lakes, and the solar system. It features fun demonstrations every hour or two, making it enjoyable for all ages. The museum also includes a play area suitable for younger children, and a gift shop to browse. While most staff members are friendly and helpful, some visitors noted that the front desk staff can appear unhappy or unwelcoming. Despite this, the overall experience is positive, especially with the variety of exhibits and hands-on activities. The museum is affordable and offers free parking next to the planetarium. It’s a perfect destination for families and anyone interested in science, history, and discovery.
Childhood memories still alive at the RMSC. Always a great time and really enjoyed showing my kids one of the many places in Rochester I grew up loving to visit. We had a very fun day!

Fabulous Rochester amenity open to all ages. A must do experience for all alike. Hands on exhibitions as well as unique science related experiences. It does not disappoint, unless a machine is broken, but usually doesn't. Love the Cummins nature center too (pancake breakfast in March!)

You can spend about 2.5-3 hours here. There is a cafe, store and plentof coaat hangers. Restrooms and many exhibits. We love it and find the EBT and regular season passes most economical.
