Seneca Park Zoo is a lovely zoo integrated within the natural environment over 20 acres, featuring five ecosystems. It is a small but nice experience where visitors can get a close up view of a variety of animals. The zoo is home to more than 90 different animal species including Masai giraffes, red pandas, African elephants, African lions, a southern white rhino, snow leopards, and California sea lions. The animals seemed content and well taken care of, with appreciation for the care and continuous education given to them. A very simple trail leads through all the exhibits, making it easy to stay on track. The Zoo allows guests to get very close to the animals, even going behind the scenes into the animal hospital to see both indoor and outdoor enclosures. A visit supports the zoo as a national leader in species survival and conservation action, directly helping to save animals from extinction. Admissions entry closes at 4pm during summer hours, with guests able to enjoy the Zoo until 5pm. A noted downside is a very foul smell present throughout the property.
