I switched my furnace from oil to propane. Suburban filled my oil tank immediately before I switched, against my directions. They now agree they owe me the money back, but I have been fighting them for it since June 2023. It is now December 2023 and I am beginning small claims court proceedings.

I talked to a few propane companies and chose Suburban because their pricing was fair and their people were extremely nice and helpful. In addition to a furnace, we also needed propane for our 22KW generator and our living room free standing propane stove. I had a number of setup and connection questions and Suburban was very helpful in answering all my questions. After they connecting our devices, they pressure checked, leak checked and adjusted the regulators to insure all my devices had their required optimized flow. From my first call to the final instillation, I spoke to 5 people at Suburban and all 5 could not have been nicer. In summary, I found the Suburban team's customer support and their quality of work to be second to none and definitely recommend them. Just give them a call and you will quickly learn what I mean by extremely nice people

Nice experience. I needed both of my portable 40-pound propane tanks filled at their station. Great service.

rochester ny suburban propane. in my personal opnion, the worst!! rochester ny suburban propanethe service is far from desirable in any way, especially the office people that can't understand when you do or don't want a delivery. all they care about is sucking the money out of your pre buy account. think about it $20 a month $240+ a year for nothing for everyone on a contract, plus whatever else they can add on without understandable explanation. they can't even understand when you tell them you don't want a delivery so i could never rely on them if i needed propane, although its paid for. do yourself a favor and do your business with someone else is only my opnion but be warned its more for their benefit than yours, you put money in your account and it just ends up in their pocket even if you didn't get propane. dont sign a contract or your stuck for three years of the worst of service!in my opnion their taking advantage of the disabled, elderly, and needy people that signed contract expecting a trustworthy and honest propane supplyer, insted you get price gouging and sub par service in my opnion (especially office/customer service).do yourself a favor and get service with a reputable company that cares about the service they claim to provide insted of a company slowly draining the money from your account . if i could give a lower rating would! its all about money, not customer service, or customer satisfaction, its about slowly draining your account, servive or not! sub-par to say the very very least!!!

Years ago I signed up for propane to get summer price. Delivered in June. First few years were fine. Last two years price was very high. 4 to 5 dollar a gal. On going rate for potter county is 299.9 next year will be looking for new supplier.

This company will charge you for everything at above market prices. They try to make you sign a three-year contract up front. I signed a one-year contract, was charged well above local market prices on propane throughout the contract period. I am talking two dollars or more above local prices! They also charge you to do safety inspections which are free from other suppliers. I cancelled my service after my contract expired and was informed, I now need to pay $1 for every unused gallon in my tank. I paid for the propane delivered, and now need to pay them to take their tank away! The tank sat in my driveway for three months after I requested removal. There are other propane suppliers in the area that are fair. Do not use this company.

I am always thankful for when deliveries arrive and there is no damage to the landscaping that borders our driveway. Like always, Suburban takes the necessary care to avoid hitting anything. Great job! We are so thankful that Suburban Propane is so considerate.

Just tried setting up an account. Got bounced around for 20 minutes from person to person and then finally hung up on. Guess I need to look elsewhere as they don't seem to need the business.

Horrible customer service, high prices. We went with a different provider. Save yourself a headache and do the same.

This rating is for Steve, the tech that replaced our tank. He did an excellent job changing the tank out from a very difficult location on our property

Lower priced propane is good. Good plans available. But when getting an installation, make SURE to request someone come out to give you a VERY detailed estimate on the cost for EXACTLY what needs to be done. The initial paperwork states "Installation Fee: $99.95", but that is only for a "Service Visit", not any work done. An actual installation with 40 feet of line is almost 7 times as much (before tax), and you are not told this before having it done. No other installation/service I have ever had has done it without a true estimate for the job. And do not wait for 3 days to be called back when told "I will speak to my Manager and call you back this afternoon." by someone OTHER than the Receptionist - call THEM instead. They need to work on being up-front and call backs with the customer.

So upset. Was great for years but service has dwindled terribly for years. Was on auto delivery and taken off unbenounced to me. Ran out of fuel and was freezing all weekend. Puts pets, children and pipes in jeopardy. No emergency service available is a bit nuts to me. I understand and accept some responsibility as i should have been checking and looking into. But no notice, no calls, voicemails, texts or emails nor mailing. Was over paid for months and paid monthly for YEARS. Last few bills were strangely low, $34.00 and $171. Which was less then budget, paid. I assumed because overpayments. Guess I got too comfortable. My fault. Enjoyed 41 degrees at home this weekend. Excited for sky rocketing electric and water bills upcoming. Again, my fault. ?

Don't get your heating oil through this company. Go to hometown energy. Hometown energy is much more personable and allows pre buys of heating oil before winter when prices inevitably are high. Nothing is worse than needing a delivery to heat your home and suburban telling you that you have to pay cash for the delivery at retail price due to not having high enough credit score. They will rob you blind if you let them. I did because I didn't know about Hometown and their pre buy during summer.
