Hands down the most fraudulent credit union I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They have horrid customer service and that's the nicest thing that can be said about them. They will tell you that you can defer payments, then when you deposit the fee for the deferments, they pocket your money, don't defer your payments, then they list all your payments as delinquent. When you talk to them they won't admit any wrongdoing, nor will they correct their own mistakes. I filed a complaint with the state.

Making an appointment to talk to bank personnel about getting a loan or other issues is absolutely ridiculous ESL Federal Credit Union has a much better reputation for customer service and loyalty never again will I seek service from Summit Credit Union it’s nothing but a sham I hope to God they go out of business very quickly plus making an appointment to talk to a bank representative is absolutely impossible, I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

I love this bank/credit union. Been with them since they opened. Never failed me. From on line banking, loans, checking, savings, etc., as well as customer service. Always been happy with them.

I have been a member for over 8 years now. I loved the online banking up until I moved out of the country. Now, it asks me to verify my account with my cell, that I normally keep turned off, even though I have registered my device, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! This is super annoying.

Ugh. I'm so bummed that I have to deal with this credit union for 4 long years. The dealership where I bought my car works through Summit. I had no idea what a nightmare setting up payments through Summit world be. Their online payment system is virtually useless. They charged $1 every time I make an electronic payment. I'm going to demand a payment ticket book and send them checks to avoid the $1 monthly fee. How that antiquated method sadness them money is beyond need. I literally hate them already and it's my first month's payment. The thought of dealing with them for the duration of my loan is unbearable.

Seriously THE worst customer service of any business I've ever encountered in my life (i.e. about 60 years.) Their interest rates are not good or remotely competitive with other available choices, which is what one might expect from a credit union, but instead of making up for it with decent customer service, Summit makes even Chase bank's customer service look excellent by comparison. If you care about getting the best rates, try one of the online banks, like Ally. If you care more about keeping your money with a credit union than about getting the best rates, try any other credit union, like ESL, rather than Summit.Hint: Read the unapproved reviews here for the ugly truth about Summit.

To be fair, this bank is definitely for older folks that doesn’t use the ATM often. I only use this bank to pay some of my bills so I deposit money using the ATM and they don’t have many around. However the few they have are not working most of the time, if it’s not out of service it doesn’t take deposit. Drove to 2 different locations still couldn’t make a deposit. And I’m being charged service fee every month for something that’s not serving it’s basic purpose. Moving fully to ESL closing it soon…

Do not waste your time with this bank. Their online banking is horrible. You can't make principle payments online, only by going to the branch, making a phone call or mailing them a check (which works really great for people who have normal jobs and normal lives, but is extremely inconvenient to those who work night shift, or don't have access to call them, or who aren't local to their branch). I can't tell you how many times they messed up a payment. I would write on the envelope, the deposit slip AND the check "PRINCIPLE PAYMENT ONLY", but countless times they would put it too interest and I would have to call to get it rectified. They need to seriously join the 21st century.

They're alright, some services you won't normally get from a bank. Never use a bank, always a credit union. But ESL has owners dividends and Genessee co-op serves our community better. Consider where you store your money.

Currently a costmer. Like all banking they lack customer care. The website keeps locking me out even with the correct password and user name. There is no one to help on non business hour. (Which SFCU has decreased to impractical for those working) also you can't call a branch you get the corporate number for which they lack human interaction.Seriously used to like this bank.
