Good store. Friendly service. Lots of customers wearing pajama bottoms.

Went here, and they refused to sell me beer because I didn't have a driver's license on me. I had my NYS ID. Which is a valid form of identification in NY. It has a picture, your name, DOB, and is issued by the DMV. I've never been to a grocery store in my life that refused to sell alcohol because you specifically need a driver's license. What if I had my passport? Would they refuse to sell it to me than ?

Just had the rudest most unprofessional experience trying to buy 2 live lobsters. To start, no one was in the section, I stood there for ten minutes before I asked the nearest employee who frustratedly said she doesn’t work back there and grudgingly called for assistance. When a lady did show up to help me, she acted like it was a pain to get me a lobster. I tried to request specific lobsters and she told me it was impossible because they move too fast, I said, okay, well they taste different based on size and how active they are, she said “they’re all active they’re fresh” (we live in upstate ny, the freshest seafood isn’t always that fresh) and that they’re all around a lb-lb and a 1/3. Then she grumbled when she pulled out a lobster and I said I didn’t want that one. I’ve never once bought live lobsters and not been able to select which one, why would you have a tank visible to customers if they can’t choose their lobster. I’m spending $20 a lb on it, I should be allowed to choose my lobster, I wouldn’t buy a $20 a lb steak if I couldn’t look at it first. Extremely frustrating, and if I could have gotten a lobster anywhere else I would’ve turned around and walked out. They’re not goldfish, they’re not fast, she should be able to grab a specific lobster if she’s going to work in that section. Get your hand in there, I don’t care what you need to do to get it, but definitely not be overtly frustrated with a customer and continually disagree with me about wanting something that would be normal in any other seafood section. Seafood section policy should be reviewed by the store, and maybe employee attitude, as it didn’t feel like a very friendly market to have the employee be actively mean and frustrated to my face.

Almost every time I go into this location I use the customer service area. There is always one attendant that is just miserable. I don't know her name, but she has long dark hair. She was there today at 9:20 a.m. I understand everybody has issues in their lives and could be having a bad day, but this is every single time I go in there. She is miserable, like her cat just died or something. I have worked in customer service for 35 years for a Fortune 500 company, and if this is the face of your franchise, then you are in deep trouble.

Store was well-stocked and had everything I needed, but sale prices require buying multiples to get a discount. Big deal-breaker for me

We rarely shop at Tops because it's so overpriced, but occasionally, we'll run in for one or two items because the location is convenient. Today, we made a fresh rhubarb-raisin pie, so we stopped for a quart of vanilla ice cream . . . and I was reminded why we almost always go elsewhere. All ice cream brands, even Tops' brand, were priced $5.49 - $5.99 for a pint and $6.99 - $7.99 for 1.25 quarts. I did get a quart of Tops' brand on sale for $3.49, but I was reminded why we drive past Tops 99% of the time to shop other grocery stores. Except for occasionally good sales on a few products, their prices are outrageous compared to literally every other store within driving distance.
