-This location has gone downhill over the past few years. Pre-Covid, it was a decent Wegmans, but now the produce is iffy and sparse, specialty items are non-existent, and they're clearly having issues with shoplifting, among other things, judging by the new security cameras with the bright blue flashing, "we're watching you," lights.
-The kid watching self-check pretty much stood over my shoulder and watched me ring out my items when I was there today. The scale was turned up to max sensitivity, and every item I scanned triggered the "place items in bag" warning when they were already bagged.
-Most times I go in there after 5PM half the self checks are turned off and there's a huge line for self check (which I prefer self check so I can bag my own groceries and not have someone who couldn't care less mush the bread, put house cleaners in with produce, and break my $700 eggs). So, again, assuming shoplifting is an issue here, but why treat legit customers like criminals and inconvenience them?
-There is at least one RPD officer there round the clock, if not 2 or 3, which should tell you all you need to know about the location and what goes on there.
-I never have these issues at Ridge Rd or Chili Ave, and there's no cops needed there for a grocery store, so drive the extra 3-5 mins and shop those locations instead.
-Positively, I will say the store is always clean, generally organized, and has a good meat selection.

The availability of products should be CONSISTENT at all wegmans locations. I came in to purchase a hot breakfast sandwich at the lyell ave location and was told by a worker that they no longer sell hot sandwiches because too many customers were “touching” them… they said I could buy a cold one and use their microwave to warm it up. Unbelievable! All the other wegmans stores in the Rochester area that I’ve been to sell hot breakfast sandwiches. Why is this the only location to take them away? The manager who decided to take the hot breakfast sandwiches off the floor for “sanitary” reasons is not very bright. Why not still have them available for purchase at the counter in the prepared foods section? You do the same with coffee, pizza, soup, subs, etc. For the convenience of customers, you should bring this product back. No one wants to buy a cold breakfast sandwich that they have to reheat, especially if they are in a hurry. Better off going to dunkin donuts at this point!

I would not waste your time taking a trip here. I could have made it to another Wagman's before they closed. They should really change the time they claim to be open till if they're not going to be open until midnight to say that they close at quarter or 10 of midnight. This is one of the worst locations. They notoriously lock their doors 10 minutes before they close. Prior to this, the last time I came was a month or 2 ago, security was locking 5 minutes before they closed and they had a very rude security officer at the door. Since then, I heard other people complaining about how rude a security guard was to them and when they described that security guard turns out it was the same person. Wegmans, do better.

Quite frankly, I am very surprised! Wegmans has never failed ever! Last night was the first time I guess everybody has a bad day.

Wegmans is really starting to suck. I am going to stop going here. Really disappointing customer service, inventory on their app is not correct and they don't know when they will get something back in stock.. Not worth the increased pricing. Bad experience 👎🏻

Great place to shop! Grocery pickup is an absolute nightmare. Only 1 spot to park for pickup and it's usually blocked by Medical Motors or a Gates Police Cruiser. I really wish they would have multiple zones like Mt Read or Chili locations.

Avoid this wegmans at all costs. Grabbed some fruit for my kids, which I didn’t notice it was moldy until the checkout. Saw that it was moldy and the cashier was mortified, they then notified their manager and their manager was not apologetic or sincere by any means. The manager just tried to replace the fruit with a different fruit, and they would speak to the DM about handling their fruit differently. The way their manager handled the situation was in my opinion totally inappropriate, was not understanding or considerate. If I could give 0 stars I would. Even the one of the employees said I am so sorry I would have handled this differently.

This store is a close option when you are traveling between Gates and Greece. Always a pleasant atmosphere!

Always love Wegmans!! Great variety of foods, ingredients, variations of ingredients, helpful for finding items compliant with different dietary types or restrictions… usually if I ever need an ingredient or food that’s less common, I go straight to Wegmans.
Love their sub shop!! Also their Buffalo Bills and/or NY Yankees merchandise area! I’ve found some unique items! -also the Buffalo Bills Little People!
I’ve never had a bad experience with customer service.
They have handicapped parking and pregnant woman/woman with young children parking! I’ve always appreciated that.
Onsite can and bottle return.
