As an employee the place is a joke. They refuse to pay us a liveable wage and they can't even pay their heat bill because the heat hasn't been on in over a week. The company just cares about making money and taking advantage of you buy selling you year long warranties they won't be able to uphold because of bankruptcy.

At first, great customer service. But once they became bankrupt, the workers don’t seem to care either. And I don’t blame them. But if I’m calling literally 20 times to see if something is in stock before I drive all the way there? I expect at least somebody to answer after the 14th call. I can be patient. But this is insane. And unacceptable. By the way, even though the website says it’s in stock, it wasn’t in stock. Don’t you just love wasting gas? Please workers. I get it. Trust me. But if you’re there, pick up the phone. That’s all I ask. Also, don’t charge me $15 more for Zelda Amiibo when you know that the price is actually $10. I shouldn’t have to go back in to correct you or motivate you to work by telling you I’m gonna do the survey which I do either way. So whoever reads this, just spent a little more on the gas by going to the one on sunrise Highway in Merrick. PS. Pick up the phone please. You don’t know who’s calling

Horrible experience, active GameStop member for over 20 years and I'm done. Went in to cancel a pre-order and was offered to renew my Pro membership. I acknowledged this but did not agree to renew. Got home and saw my membership was renewed without my approval. Called in and spoke with a member who told me they couldn't cancel over the phone but could in person and I'd have to come back. I did so and was told by the representative who inappropriately renewed the membership that there was nothing he could do, and then lied that I had given explicit approval for renewal, claiming I said "Okay, let's do it". A complete lie directly to my face. What's worse is this was the general manager of the store, Brendan. He then lied again to my face and said nobody else could fix this either. Thankfully when I called into corporate they were more than happy to cancel the membership and renew the points. They apologized for the actions of that manager and processed a complaint on the matter. What I can say is as long as Brendan is employed at that store STAY AWAY!

I recently spent $1,000+ picking up a PS5 and some games for it. When the guy brought out the PS5 package it was in a GameStop bag. Didn't think anything of it until I got home and saw that he charged me $5 for the bag. I went to return the games and headset that came with the PS5 package a few days later. While waiting on line a customer who was two spots infront of me comes back in. The guy working there put two preorders on some his order and rounded up the charge because he said he was out of change. The clerk corrected the issue but was super pissy about it then told the guy that he had to bring exact change from now on because there was a change shortage, like it's the customer's fault for that. Then a pair of tweens was next. One of them wanted to use his $30 gift card to buy a $16+tax thing. The clerk harassed the kid into giving him is name, address, and phone number so he could "look him up." After finding the kid's mom in the system he goes into some tirade that the kid was losing hundreds of dollars because his monther's Pro subscription was expired and he should renew it. The renewal would have cost more than the kid had on his gift card but as he tried to explain it to the clerk he just kept on harassing him. I was actually about to say something when he finally relented and let the kid go with his purchase. Then it was my turn, I already wasn't expecting much since GS is known for not being great on returns they turn around and mark up 600% and resell. So, all brand new $90 headset: can't return because it's part of a package but can trade it in for $12. 2 PS5 games: can't return or trade-in because they're still in the wrapper. Was told I couldn't open the wrapper and then trade it in because the store cameras already caught us with the wrapper on. Didn't even get the to bag I never asked for. Won't be going back.

Can't go to this location while a certain employee is there. Constantly pushes to sign up for their program and highly insistent on my friend using my account despite her having one as well "so I can get more points". Insisted that he would split the order and didn't end up doing so. I don't have an issue paying for my friend, I have an issue when you don't take no for an answer. This is the second time this has happened and he got offended when I pushed to pay separately because I didn't trust that he would split the payment. I don't normally write reviews, but when you're a rude individual who is pushy and can't take no and leave it be, and especially when you can't take the same stubbornness I dish back, I'm gonna be a little frustrated.

One of the worst when it comes to being a caring person. An employee told a elderly woman and a child to wait outside because they were at capacity for covid reasons (understandable). When the lady suggested that she and the young child wait by the door the employee coldly stated it has to be outside it is 28 degrees outside. I asked them employee how could you make that old lady wait outside he didn't seem to care so I left immediately to let her in. Not before telling her she should not give them the business. This location will no longer get my business.

Not sure what the poor reviews are for but I came here recently and had a great experience. The employee was very friendly, I was in and out with what I needed. He was also knowledgeable on services that GameStop offers.

I was a very frequent shopper at this gamestop for almost a decade, the staff there used to go above and beyond for the consumer. What happened? Brandon (the store manager) did.......he is literally the definition of ALL the bad and notorious deeds GameStop has ever done. he started there when the Playstation 5 came out and boyy am I glad I got a pre order on one BEFORE he started there because it has been a nightmare since. every time I go he attempts to shove warranties and pre orders on me that I do not want or need, and the few times i do get preorders from there i noticed that he tacks on the 5-10 dollar warranty ANYWAY. he even made pre-orders on games i didnt want! and when i asked for a refund he says im getting it in store credit.....but the icing on the cake is when there was a ps5 drop today my friend traveled from NEW JERSEY to be there when the store opened at 10am granted we were a little late in line maybe 20 or so people ahead of us.. tell me how the hell you have a sign on the door stating you have 85 ps5 consoles then claim that they are reserved for pro members????? my friend's pro membership expired literally 4 days ago and this guy was a complete dick about it he said there was no "time" to renew it.......like wtff? this clown clearly dosent understand the rule the customer is always right as his predecessors did and Brandon should be terminated from gamestop for shady business practices and swindling customers

Placed an order on line. Instead of the person helping me in possibly finding which email I had used ,he had a major attitude. Maybe ask me if I am a member? Just because I'm a female doesn't mean I don't game.
