School of Rock has been a great experience for my child. He gets to take individualized lessons and then apply the lessons in a group setting. My son is shy and this has benefitted him greatly.

My daughter feels very comfortable with the teachers and staff. Also they are very accomodating in scheduling make up classes.

It is amazing for my child to write 2 original songs and presented a wonderful performance during the 5-day song-writing camp. Look forward to more camp activities in the future!

“My kid loves SOR, she's really come a long way with her musical ability, and she has made some friends along the way. It's a healthy outlet for her to spend her after school hours with like-minded kids that have music in common. The instructors are brilliant in their craft, and it feels more like a family than a school. The showcase concerts are really great, and you can see the passion in each kid when they are up on that stage. The upcoming year will be her last year and it's going to be sad to see her as a senior student. I have a feeling she will certainly be continuing with the SOR as an adult student as well. Highly recommend.”

Our 7 year old son has been taking lessons here for a year now, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. He spent the first few months doing a survey of different instruments and then settled on the keyboard. He LOVES it. The lessons are fun and well structured — he looks forward to going every week. And because he’s playing ACTUAL songs that he loves, he practices (and shows off) constantly. Less than a year in he was playing and singing Let it Be, Yesterday, and other songs start to finish — not only at home, but also on pianos at friends’ houses and at school! Instead of Twinkle Twinkle or Hot Cross Buns (which I was learning at his age), he’s learning music theory and how to read chord professions, and joining a rock band. His instructor Bradley (who is amazing) has also been teaching him songs from his favorite video games.I wish I could give School of Rock 100 stars. It rocks that hard.

My daughter has taken music lessons at School of Rock in Rockville Centre for the last six years and it has truly been such an awesome experience. The staff are professional and so encouraging, while the performance part of the program has built up so much confidence. I would recommend this music school to all.

My child has been with School of Rock for about two years. They have grown tremendously as both a musician and an individual. They are passionate about music and strive to become a better musician. I have never seen my child so dedicated! School of Rock has also provided a community for my child which has been wonderful They have become more confident through encouragement from their peers and instructor. They have made some new friends which is an added bonus. They look forward to going each week and speak very highly of their instructor and the staff. I couldn’t be happier!

Worst music school in Long Island. I have never experienced such a level of deplorable behavior from management. The school owner needs a course in customer service immediately. She is rude, and her school staff has discriminated against my daughter the ONE black student in her age group that attended school here. I'm wondering this "manager" will reply to this comment or hide behind it and attempt to remove this honest review. At this point I'm ensuring that no child has to encounter this inexcusable behavior in the future by ensuring every platform is aware of how my child and I were treated here. $1200 wasted.

No way to track your child's progress because once the child's class is over the instructor is ready for another student. Monica the school director is terrible, unprofessional, and clearly lives in misery managing this establishment. I demanded that my daughter's teacher call me so I can have an idea of her progress. Instead I was directed to her teacher's notes online. Notes that are one sentence each class at best. My child is a fast learner in every aspect of life, and has been here for four months and has not been able to learn a song. Four months? Then I was threatened on the phone by Monica and told that my 9 year old child can not step foot in the school, because I asked questions about her progress, and demanded to speak with a human and not not refer to notes in an email. She interrupted me several times during my conversation. I am convinced that she would NOT speak with any other customer that matched her race like this. I have never experienced such a disgusting person in my entire life, and such poor customer service

I don't understand how parents aren't allowed to sit in on any of their kids classes! How are we supposed to know if our kids are progressing if we can never speak with the instructors? When you consider the high prices, plus the lack of instructor communication... it's really not worth it.

I am flabbergasted at how deplorable of an establishment School Of Rock is. I am astonished and upset that my niece was subjected to discrimination at this school. My niece has been a student at Rockville center for approximately four months. She is the only Black child that attends that school in her age group. My niece has personally told me that no one says hi to her when she walks in to the building. I'm wondering how disgusting this has to be to treat certain students differently than others. To be clear my niece had no complaints about her instructor being rude/mean. It's the front desk worker Dori that never greets her when she walks in and just stares at her until she walks in to her class. Do not send your children here especially if they are of color because they will only take your hard earned money and treat you like they are doing you a favor by teaching your child. If you are Caucasian and you are against racism you should stand in solidarity and not send your child here either. The owner Monica Rubin lacks professionalism and retaliated against my sister because she gave an honest review of her experience. I'm fact this monster told my sister that her daughter can never step foot at her school ever again. How dare she treat an innocent child like that??

The team here makes my son feel at home. They are very attentive to him and me. He has learned a lot and grown with them. It's a fun family environment. I recommend SOR in RVC to any aspiring young musicians.

I cannot say enough how happy I am that I found this school for my son. My son is 7 years old on the autism spectrum and the entire team at School of Rock are always so patient and kind with him. Monica is always so responsive and accommodating. Bradley, his instructor is AMAZING with him and my son truly enjoys going to see him every week because he makes the class fun for him. Truly an awesome experience overall!

Their inclusive methodology is a different way to learn music that works really well for my 5yo. He's enjoying learning the type of music they play (rock vs. classical) and the variety of instruments available to learn about music theory. The teachers are great at communicating with him at his level, and flexible with his interests day to day, while still teaching him. We're excited to keep rocking for a long time to come!
