“Ate here last week, it was great and the afternoon was stunning. Very sweet wait person drives from Penn Yan because she loves working there. Our meals were great and a step above. We loved the duck wings. My friends prime rib sandwich was excellent as was the tuna. I loved the Caesar salad. The lobster roll was tasty and a surprising choice for Central NY. Very rich and buttery.”
“Buttonwood Grove Winery has always been a special place for me, and it’s easily one of my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes. Overlooking beautiful Cayuga Lake, the property has incredible views, a relaxed atmosphere, and some fantastic wines. I especially love their Rieslings and make it a point to stop in at least once or twice every season.
There’s a lot of sentimental value here for me as well. I brought my wife to Buttonwood on our very first date, and years later, we came back to have some of our engagement photos taken on the property. It’s pretty amazing to have a place that has been part of our story from the very beginning.
One of my favorite things to do is simply sit out on the deck with a glass of wine and take everything in—the view of Cayuga Lake, the smell of the flowers, the bees moving from bloom to bloom, and even the carpenter bees hard at work on just about every piece of exposed wood they can find. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and quintessential Finger Lakes.
Great Rieslings, gorgeous scenery, and a place filled with some very good memories for us. Buttonwood will always be one of those wineries we keep coming back to.”
