Not surprised the last review here is a negative one as well! Was in a car accident and this company showed up to tow. Its so unfortunate to be taken advantage of in such an already chaotic and scary time! My husband and I showed up to his lot at around 10:00 am on 2/8/23 to remove my belongings from my truck and noticed a piece of my truck that was previously intact was removed. I thought this was funky- but clearly don't get into accidents frequently to know if this is common practice or not. Something told me to document this- so I took a picture. We were told the owner whom we would need to release the vehicle to was not in yet and we would have to come back. I called him for the first time at 12:52 pm on 2/8/23 which is when he informed me that my vehicle was fixable and not totaled to which I replied that's great news because I would rather it be fixed than totaled and he said we would talk when I arrived. At no point was I asked if he could do work to my vehicle. I headed straight there but called my insurance company on my way and they advised me that they need to make this determination, so I would still need to release the car to them for assessment. I arrived to the yard at about 1:30pm and I conveyed this information to Mike- and he most definitely did not like this. He made me feel so uncomfortable about signing the release that I actually called my husband and had him on speaker because I was uneasy about entering a building with him alone. He made comments like, "You know if you sign this over to allstate you will never see this vehicle again". It was very clear- he wanted the work/money of this job and was trying to finagle me to going around using my insurance company and using him to repair instead. Upon entering his office I signed two documents to release my vehicle to allstate....or so I thought. I received an email from allstate today 2/9/23 questioning the charges he invoiced. Stating and I quote "labor of $365 and teardown fee of $650 seem odd" They asked if we gave authorization for the tear down. WE. DID. NOT. When I called Mike he claimed he took the part off AFTER our 12:48 phone-call with my verbal consent- however I have a time stamped photo showing this part removed at 10:05, before ANY contact was made. Looks to me like a scammer who had intent of coersing me into avoiding using my insurance, and now is still trying to bill for it! AVOID THIS TOW COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pursuing a complaint on the BBB, and giving my feedback about this company even being a preferred vendor in these instances to the suffolk PD. Photo below of piece removed at 10:05 AM! Also- DEFINITELY do not use this company if you have allstate- the owner has many facebook posts about his vendetta with them. Maybe he shouldn't tow allstate insured vehicles if he is going to treat their customers in the way he treated us!
