I found the application process at Options for Community Living to be highly organized and professional. Potential candidates should find it worthwhile to give them a try, but also keep your options open.

They "helped" me apply to housing months ago...just find out now, they never received my application in time. If I didn't involve Options, I would be either in a new housing unit or on a list for voucher assistance. I also was sent EXTREMELY private details of another client accidentally by a representative. I was sent address, phone, #, SOCIAL SECURITY #, Mental Illness description.....what are they actually doing over there?

DO NOT TRUST OPTIONS FOR COMMUNITY LIVING. THEY ARE A CORRUPT AGENCY. THEIR EMPLOYEES BREAK THE LAW.NYS Department of HealthI am looking forward to you taking over as the Commissioner Of Health. Currently, there are parts of the NYS Department of Health and The AIDS Institute are infected with corrupt people who violate the law and/or participate in highly inappropriate behavior. They areJoseph KerwinJohanne MorneWilliam KarchnerCindy RavidaKathleen IdeI have a pleather of recorded telephone conversations, emails etc to support my statement above. Most of the individuals listed above partnered with Options For Community Living, an agency The NYS Department of Health/The AIDS Institute funds, in a carefully designed plan to end my housing subsidy. I have had belongings of mine taken from me without my permission, employees of The New York State Department of Health, The AIDS Institute and Options For Community Living located in Ronkonkoma, New York have violated the law on multiple occasions and/or have participated in highly inappropriate behavior.I filed formal complaints with the AIDS Institute. I personally love working for Options For Community Living. Upper Management are very helpful and respectful. They follow up immediately when issues arise, whether a computer issue or personal. Great pay and they go above and beyond to retain staff. Very supportive and understanding during Covid. They definitely follow their Mission Statement in my opinion...

I appreciate they help my brother was accepted into their programHowever, one of his housemates attacked him on two occasions (one with a baseball bat) and they tell him to call the police. The police say to call Options. There's got to be someone to regulate these homes to avoid unnecessary confrontations.

I have the best peer support from them how ever the case cordnier stinks she is mentally unstable and mentally challenged. I wound up being a Jane doe on Monday at the er and when calling me today she started the conversation are you ok I heard you went to the hospital which for reason of why I went is none of thier business and it crosses lines of safety! I never liked her! However my peer support was very helpful and let me talk about it at my own pace

Awful. My friend's mental health has gotten worse since living here and the more I dig the more I hear the same bad things. The website is misleading because from what I can see they just don't care and the homes are filthy! Stick with the Wayback, it's privately run and I've generally heard great things about them, unlike options that have turned into another state-run sh*thole. In response to the comment about staff not caring, I heard what happened and that wouldn't be the staff's fault as they aren't trained for that. What happened is on options. I hope my friend gets out before she or someone else ends up the same as the other client. Something needs to change there because its difficult to see people you care about struggle somewhere that's meant to help not harm

I have been living in options for community living for 13 years my roommate of 2 years has been threatening me constantly damaging my vehicle and I can't get any proof because they won't let me put any security cameras up because you're not allowed to record anything on their premises.

Pretty easy to find. I used my GPS and it took me on an expedition around town instead of just taking a straight route. Free parking, handicapped accessibility, ramps and parking. Great friendly people that are very welcoming and seemingly understanding of a person's life experiences. Looking forward to staying in touch.

A resident in 1 of the Options For Community Living homes passed away but it may have been prevented if staff properly monitored the residents & actually cared. That includes overnight hours. Left many with broken hearts.
