I believe she was honest with me about how the dresses looked on me!!She made excellent suggestions and picked out a lot of dresses for me to try and gave me an honest opinion about each one!! She advised me about which dresses looked the best and which dresses did not flatter me!! She had a good eye for things that did or did not look good. She advised me about colors of shoes that would go with both dresses. This was very helpful because I need a pair of shoes that will go with both of the dresses I bought.She was respectful and polite and never made me feel that it was a bother to help me!! “We brought our family to Osteria Laguna after dining here in February. The food was just as good this time as was the service. The duck was terrific, the lamb shank and pasta with lamb ragu both excellent, and the spinach ravioli was very good. The chocolate lava cake and the key lime cheesecake were delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant for high quality Italian food near Grand Central Terminal!”

“This is exactly what New York streetwear shops used to be before private equity discovered that young people enjoy sneakers.
There was a time in New York when shops were part of a culture. They didn’t simply sell things to the community; they participated in it. Then somewhere along the way, everyone discovered branding, venture capital, and the tremendous financial possibilities of selling a sweatshirt for $240.
Walking into this shop reminded me of what I miss about the heyday of New York street fashion.
These guys didn’t open a store so they could become famous for owning a store. They opened it because they actually care about the culture surrounding it. This distinction may sound small, but in modern New York retail, it is practically revolutionary.
Walk into most streetwear shops today and you’ll find the same five brands arranged slightly differently on concrete shelves. You know the brands. I know the brands. There is no reason to embarrass everyone by naming them.
This place is different.
There are products from local New York artists, independent New York brands, and people who are actually part of the community the store represents. There’s an excellent selection of Nikes, a huge assortment of spray cans, caps, markers, and practically anything else you might need to go out and create something.
It feels less like somebody studied street culture and opened a store based on the research and more like the people behind the store were already part of the culture and simply built a home for it.
Depending on where you live, getting here may be a bit of a trek. Go anyway. New Yorkers will travel 45 minutes for a croissant they saw on Instagram. You can certainly travel that far for something with actual character.
And if you’re thinking about opening a shop in New York City, you should be required to make a pilgrimage here first.
Walk around. Look carefully. Take notes.
