The Rye Nature Center is a 47-acre forest managed by the Friends of Rye Nature Center (FRNC), a non-profit organization. The center offers over two miles of hiking trails, ponds, streams, granite outcroppings, playground areas, and comfortable outdoor rest areas that are open daily from dawn until dusk. FRNC provides environmental education and supports the community's access to nature, hosting over 42,000 nature experiences each year through various programs and workshops. The walking trails are described as short, flat, and beautiful, making it a great way to spend an hour or two. The staff is professional, and the center is very kid-friendly with ample parking. However, some visitors have faced challenges finding the entrance, possibly through the Playland Parking Lot.
I was there volunteering with our company, we removed invasive plants.
