Located in village founder Augustus Sacket's historic home, the Sackets Harbor Visitor Center offers exhibits highlighting local history and the story of the village. In addition, we offer tourism information for attractions, businesses, and events in the village, as well as those in the 1000 Islands and North Country. The Sackets Harbor Visitor Center is open seasonally. In May and October 2026, we're open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. In June and September, we're open Thursdays through Sundays. And in July and August, we're open daily except Wednesdays. If you'd like to visit us outside of our normal hours or in the off-season, please call or email us at to arrange an appointment.
There on a wednesday and they are closed on wednesdays. QR code on door helped a little. town is very walkable and left vehicle parked at center. interesting history and our first visit to a war of 1812 landmark

The lady told us a lot about the history of sackets harbor. I would recommend watching the short video of its history also in the visitors center. We walked 8 miles and visited several places along our route. Very cool historical community. Great place for a weekend getaway.

I love visiting Sackets harbor, but I must say the MemorialDay Parade this year was very disappointing. I have been there other years and it was a great parade. A band and 2 Fire Trucks doesn’t make for much of a parade. The Memorial Service was very good.
