I have been having my hair highlighted and cut by Sean Edison for many years, and have almost always been pleased with the results. Unfortunately I learned today - after sitting down for my appointment at his salon - that SEAN REFUSES TO ACCOMMODATE CLIENTS WHO CHOOSE TO WEAR A MASK. I reminded him that I have been wearing a mask for the past year when coming in for highlights and a cut and that it was never problematic or interfered with the services I received before, and his response was "that was then, this is now". I explained that I felt very uncomfortable being unmasked indoors and that COVID transmissions are on the rise. He then told me in no uncertain terms that I would have to remove the mask or leave the shop, I chose to leave. Needless to say, I will not be going back. His position makes no sense and he was rude and hostile when stating it. I guess he doesn't need the business.

Absolutely love !! Was looking for a new place since coming to the Hamptons and THIS IS IT !! From highlights to keratin treatments, everything has been PERFECT ! On top of that, my hair has never been healthier ! Sean was so welcoming and came up with a game plan to get my hair where I wanted. Never been happier !

I can't speak highly enough of this salon! Sean is the definition of perfection when it comes to haircutting and coloring. I've been getting compliments daily as a result of his work! I finally found someone who I feel is a real pro and also pleasant to chat with. The salon has a very relaxing atmosphere ( nice music) and easy parking too! Love the new location.

I'm not quite certain how this man is a licensed hairstylist let alone a salon owner. I saw this salon in passing not knowing anything about it and thought oh I'm in the Hamptons all the salons here must be excellent!! My highlights have marks at the root where the bleach spread and they are completely orange. I was drenched during my very vigorous rough shampoo. When I pointed out to Sean where the bleach had spread and told him the color was way off he was became nasty. I felt uncomfortable so I decided to pay and leave. I have an appointment to get my hair fixed at my regular salon. This experience ruined my entire vacation.

Sean is rude and dismissive. I witnessed him fawn over one important client then turn around and treat another client with indifference. He might do hair well enough but at what cost people? Two faces on a man that hears everything; would you trust time in his chair? Not for me!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM SEAN EDISON, HERE'S WHY.... Last week, November 18, I drove from NYC to see Sean Edison for our 12:00pm appointment. I apologetically called noting I'd be 6-7 minutes late. On arrival, other than a welcome, I was greeted with one verbally and visually agitated hair dresser, Sean. Rushing me to the sink before my coat was off, (29 degree day) I accidentally spilled 1/2 cup water on the floor (for my pup, which I quickly cleaned up). This event, sent Sean over an edge.... Still, we made it to the sink, when abruptly, while shampooing me, Sean states "I won't have enough time to cut your hair". It was around 12:11pm Honestly, I thought I was hearing things. I THEN SAID "WHY ARE YOU WASHING ME ?" He admits he'd forgotten, I have long hair. (He cut it in July). During his hostile shampooing and rinsing, I defeatedly said... I'll be happy to leave now. Being that it was 29 degrees that day, I needed to blow my hair dry. but Sean wouldn't allow me the use of a blower, nastily roaring, 'YOU CAN"T USE THIS BLOWER IT'S VERY "EXPENSIVE". He began blowing me out, I became more uncomfortable since he continued to berate me for being 8 minutes late. I had to leave the shop, feeling disgusted, with wet hair, in 29 degrees. Its now only 12:17 when the next appointment (a 12;30) arrives. Do hairdressers allow only 30 minutes per head? Not once in 50 years of visiting salons, have I had an experience like this one, Most of the time, hairdressers and clients like one another, and are kind. If this were reversed and he was delayed, all of 10 minutes, I guarantee I could not ever be as rude, cruel and nasty as Sean acted towards me. Wet head and all, with tears in my eyes, I drove another 2 hours back to nyc without my haircut, feeling emotionally abused. THIS ASPECT OF SEAN'S PERSONALITY THAT EMERGED, FAR FAR OUTWEIGHES HIS TALENT. P.S.In hopes, I imagined Sean would have called with an apology expressing he had been upset by somehting else . NO SUCH COURTESIES.

I have been going to Sean for several years. He is the only one that could color my brown hair just right . The salon is clean and private. Sean also does my husband and son's haircuts. I have referred him to many happy clients and friends. Five stars all around.

I got my haircut and color today, and couldn't be happier with the result. Amazing work and perfect haircut. I'm always happy with how Sean cuts my hair, but i absolutely love the way he colored my hair and how it came out. He was patient and it's obvious that Sean loves his job and strives to achieve the great results which will make the clients happy. I absolutely recommend Sean and his salon and will be coming back!

Paid for a half head of highlights and ended up with 1.5 inches of dark brown roots all over my head that this hairdresser didn’t even make an attempt to cover nor blend. My family, friends and I were shocked by how terrible the results were. When I called Shaun to ask about this, he said a half head of highlights included no root touch up and that his work was “perfect” and refused to look at photos of my ruined hair that clearly showed otherwise. He offered to give an $150 refund to my mother(who paid for the service.) She drove 35 minutes just for him to slam the door in her face and say “your 18-year-old daughter needs to be taught a lesson!” Never go to this horrible so-called salon.

after offering to refund our credit card, we drove 35 minutes to the salon. The owner slammed the door in my face and refused to issue the refund. Poor work product and very bad, unethical behavior. I've gone to him for years for highlights and cuts - terrible that this is how he treats loyal customers.
