Workers come off rude and stereotypical. Probably just the area. Prices are unreasonably high. Can probably get a much better deal at a stop and shop or shop rite, but the only plus I'd give these guys is that the location and how conveniently close by it is. Whole store needs a revamping and it makes me miss the old waldbaum's in lake grove.

For some reason the Entemann's Rich Frosted junior chocolate donuts always taste the best and freshest from the St. James King Kullen. Those donuts are fantastic. Wow. I won't buy anywhere else but there.

My husband and I shopped there yesterday and were happy with our purchases and interaction with other shoppers. then the friendly atmosphere ended at he checkout. The cashier was out of control!, He rearranged the items as we emptied our cart all the while mumbling. He then threw a coin at me which would have eased change back . Then left his area walked around in circles stomped back and put out his hand so I gave him back the quarter. He then gave me my change roughly placing it in my hand and growled "I didn't want the quarter". Like the store but will never allow myself to be abused by him again.

This is our neighborhood store. When you're in your nineties it's convenient but time after time they are disappointing. Today at eleven am we went to the store to buy Chicken Drumsticks-none available. So we ended up at Aldi less than a half mile away and bought drumsticks. The other day I was looking for lamb chops. I was told that they don't have an in house butcher so none available.Checkout people and office people are nice. That's it.

Love this store, local and friendly local staff, easy to navigate parking lot, they have what I need and great sales. Yummy seafood salad! Very clean and well-maintained. I remember when it was Blue Jay Markets, and I hope they remain for many years. Thank you for being part of St. James.

A throwback to another era except service is 2020, which means if an employee even acknowledges you, you are lucky to get a grunt from them. My cashier had neither a hello or goodbye for me. Prices are higher, too.

king kullen does the trick when you are short on time and need to pick up what you need and get out.....prices aren't the best---but it is not outrageous .... they always have enough carts for shopping...the man who stocks them is always on top of things.....one problem is one of the cashiers.....believe his name is Philip.....if you notice NOBODY goes on his line......if you want someone who is rude-and throws your groceries around then he is your guy........

Theres an old saying, "you cant put lipstick on a pig." Thats exactly what they did but sorry, their prices are still high, the kids couldn't give a crap about working and its not the cleanest place to go. I've tried speaking to the produce stockers about rotted things I've found and I get the, "yup" answer. After an hour of weaving around displays and other customers that are obscenely rude, you will go back and see the guys are gone but the rotten item is still there. Tells me they have no pride. I've lived in SJ for 25 years, I've shopped there maybe 20 times with most just for milk. Its a two minute walk for me but I'd rather have Peapod deliver or go 4 mile drive to ShopRite. Oh well!

King Kullen is a great supermarket. They have a nice selection of things. I used to shop exclusively here but then i loves and discovered that certain other stores had nicer produce and better prices on some things. Still this is a well laid out store. It is a bit smaller than other supermarkets but still has a nice selection of products. The people working there are usually very friendly and the people who shop there Usually friendly too. It is in a convenient location right on lake ave in st James. Very good store but like i mentioned earlier there are stores nearby that have bigger selections and better prices.

Prices are sometimes a little higher than the neighborhood Stop and Shop, but I still make regular visits to this store. Very convenient location for me and the workers are very helpful and friendly!

wow! I'm Surprised to see the other negative reviews! this is a good store! yes, it may be just slightly more expensive than the stop n shop by my house...but..it is smaller, and the parking lot is much more inviting, and their selection is a little less but I can get just about everything I need. check out is usually fast, bakery and deli service are quick, they have beautiful plants too. It is quicker to get thru than the giant stores! And, it's a family owned store, local to Long Island. support your local community! convenient and fits the bill. what more can we ask....

This supermarket is only good if you need a few items and you cannot get to a Whole foods or Stop and Shop. Their meat section is lacking and the store rarely has sales. Needs an overhaul.
