“First off, I read all over 200 reviews, alot are absolutely true, I want to focus on the hotel and the complaints about the homelessness,,,homelessness is a crisis, I see 17 year olds with no guidance and have to perform sex acts for a roof over their head, they can't work cause they have no where to live steady and no guidance, same as some 41 year olds, mental health issues, drug problems, ,,,,now, these hotels all over our country that make their decision to sign s contract with facilities that house people for the night or week depending on the situation, the hotel owner has a choice to go ahead and accept to house these people and accepting pay from a facility that helps people in need after hours when no businesses are open, I think that's kind, understanding and human and the right thing to do, the owner can not, absolutely can not stop people from acting like fools 24/7, the owner and housekeepers and front desk do actually have a ton of work to do and can not monitor, but I know from personal experience that this hotel ,comfort inn in saugerties actually tries to maintain behavior, their are new rules and I've seen a tremendous change, I had been living with my abusive ex waiting for my apartment to be available and it was hard, I did not go to social services but in March things got real bad and I got help,I was placed at the comfort inn,I saw what everyone is complaining about first hand, right here three months, I then saw the new rules and the major change in activities going on at the hotel, I also gotta say that if it wasn't for this hotel accepting us in need,,,,,cause the Howard johnson don't do it, nor does the Holiday inn across the street,I would have had to find a way to Poughkeepsie thirty minutes away,I respect the hotel for helping and also kicking out those who bring trouble,oh yeah they do kick out people who don't act right, you just may have been at the hotel on the night before he or she was kicked out, there is a list of people that are not allowed and the hotel tries to help and some people take advantage, I just know that I thank this hotel for allowing me safety for the night and the three months I stayed here, I left three days ago and already had a fight with my abuser and had no place to go so I'm grateful and it shows, now I would like to address the bug situation, everybody needs to stop, I know from working as a housekeeper for 15 years in New York and Indiana that bedbugs travel as we do,roaches also, but if a place is kept clean and monthly exterminator comes, it's gonna be ok,I stayed here three months and saw a roach one time only! No bedbugs, maybe I saw a water bug or beetle ,it may not have been a roach but c'mon, they are in all hotels, and I've heard of the Hilton having them also, but the comfort inn is the cleanest hotel , they definitely clean and landscape looks great, best breakfast also ,I'm so appreciative that the comfort inn helped me these past few months”
“This hotel was in a perfect location… right off the Thruway! No, it is not a luxury place but served our needs. We were gone all day and only came back late every night to sleep. The pool was warm , though we didn’t have our swimsuits with us in May. Friendly staff!”
“A jewel in the center of Saugerties. Well-appointed rooms--with fantastic bathroom--just steps away from the action in town. This is the second stay here. Are recommending to friends and we will be back.”
