I am very surprised to see that I am the first to be giving a review to White Eagle, seeing how this company has been around the area for many years and seen in many stores around the area. Well after this past Christmas, I felt compelled to pass along my story. I, like many I assume, was very eager to grab up some White Eagle fresh kielbasa to have with my family on Christmas eve. First off the cost, 4.99$ a pound, I was willing to spend this, as myself and my family purchase this twice a year (Easter and Christmas) Once we got it home we could immediately smell the infamous "garlicky" smell that this Kielbasa always gives off! Needless to say the anticipation was overwhelming. However, once the kielbasa was cooked (boiled) we cut into it and on first taste noticed something was very different from past experiences. The kielbasa was extremely dry and so very stringy and very tough! Far from what we have experienced in the past. At first I thought it was just the one I purchased, but after conversations with my husband's friend who also bought some, they had the same experience and they even brought theirs back to the store they purchased it from and went with a local meat market's store made kind that was much better. We were totally shocked as to what we got from White Eagle. I even purchased a package of Cocktail franks and once i opened them all the franks were so horribly disfigured from the packaging i decided not to use them. I'm not entire sure what has happened to White Eagle's products, aside from the high prices, the quality seems to be "just thrown together", and also seem to be made with cheaper quality ingredients? I have no idea, was a serious let down to me and my family and friends. Looks like I'll be moving on to local meat store's brand from now on, after being a faithful customer as well as my friends and family to White Eagle for many years, I guess all good things must come to an end.
