“I've been coming to the Schroon on Lake area for about 20 years, and this store is one of the most important in this community. It has been a Grand Union, Tops, Grand Union Family Store, and now a Tops again. I may have the order mixed up, but without this store, a real grocery shopping trip necessitates a drive of at least 30 minutes. You can see how locals depend on it. At different times, the produce has been "meh," or the meat mediocre, but the selection has always impressed me! They've had dry goods that P/C doesn't stock, and it's obvious they are responsive to personal requests. They still carry low-carb ice cream, which is really hard to find, AND my personal favorite flavor of deodorant (I scented) which has gotten very difficult to find. The last thing I want to comment on is Tops' parking lot- central in town and crucial on days like the big 4th of July Parade. Much appreciated! Most of all, I appreciate Tops for just BEING HERE. And this year, I'm thankful for Tops being open part of Thanksgiving Day, and even answering the phone snd looking for an obscure ingredient for my favorite squash recipe.
