Last week I decided to order several meals, using a $100 Uber Eats gift card that I had received for my birthday. The portions were very generous with most dinners including main course, soup, salad, vegetable, potato AND dessert all for less than $30 each. Everything was delicious - California panini, lamb chops, open roast beef sandwich, French dip sandwich, pork chops and 1/2 toasted chicken. They even threw in 4 free muffins which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend East Bay Diner for both in person dining or delivery. Note: As you can imagine with all of that food I did have to add more money to my order.

The food is average. The "lunch menu" sometimes includes soup and dessert and other days doesn't- depends on the waitstaff. But by far the real reason why I don't like coming here is the main hostess (possibly owner?). She treats her regulars so nicely, but smears at everyone else! Even though I would return here every two weeks or so she would act like I was a complete stranger, and is downright rude and unfriendly! She actually makes me feel like I'm a nuisance for asking for a table. Not a smile, a hello or a thank you! The previous co/hostess passed away a few years ago and she was lovely! I HATE coming here!

I like their bacon cheeseburgers. Brioche bun, crispy bacon, generous tomato and lettuce. Sweet potato waffle fries upon request are really delicious. Sweet potato fries are good if they are not overly cooked semi burnt. Wait staff is extremely nice. The cheeseburger needs improvement if I ask for medium it's charbroiled and I hate the char broiled taste. I have to request it not charbroiled and then it's hit or miss with my luck it comes out right. There isn't much on the menu I'd order. I go there with my guy and he loves the turkey club sandwich, Cole slaw and pickles. Atmosphere is nice. Bathrooms need to be cleaned better. I like section on right when you first walk in rather than dining room straight ahead.

By FAR my favorite diner I have ever been to. The vibes are perfect, the proportions are large, the service is great, the appetizers are generous, and the food is so good. Cannot recommend more. There are some days/times where there is a wait time, but that is common. Wait it out. Love this place!

First of all the hostess needs to lighten up on her perfume..every time she walked past us I felt like I tasted it in my food. Secondly my husbands dressing for his sandwich was bad and all the waiter said was "oh sorry" ...really. Won't be back.

The portions are big, the waitress is nice, but extremely overworked, and there always seems to be free tables even when it's bustling. That's the good news. The bad news is that the silverware is dirty as are the plates. I had to send back a knife three times and then we wiped the plates clean ourselves. Also, make sure you're careful with giving instructions of how you want your food cooked. Otherwise, it will come somewhat dry and overcooked.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I came in today to have break fast with my family. When we were first seated there was syrup on the table that they sat us at, It was not clean. When we ordered our pancakes with eggs and omlette with cheese they did not add the eggs or the cheese to our meals and then charged us for it ! There was no seasoning in any of our food and was so bland I could not even eat it. The waitress did not pay us any mind and was on her phone.Do not go here. If I could give it NEGATIVE stars I would !

Average food, nothing to write home about. The staff is nice and friendly. One complaint: do not assume everyone speaks Spanish. The language of this nation is English. Please make sure your staff knows that.

This diner was a surprise to me when we first went there. It was very crowded but the food came out promptly. Whichever we ordered was not only plentiful but also delicious. Staff were all courteous and attentive. The four of us each took leftovers home. Sure bet!

I went here last month with my 4 year old. my first impression, not so good. there was a giant size hand sanitizer taking up a ton of space on the tiny table, along with the ketchup/salt and pepper etc. Honestly who squirts chemicals on their hands before eating their lunch? I asked for a bottle of water--they had none. Ok not a huge deal. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. It was pale as could be, had probably 4 pieces of hard, fibrous chicken and zero vegetables in it--not even a glimpse of a cooked down morsel of onion. Gross. My son wanted a kids grilled cheese and asked if he could get a side of fruit. They had zero fruit to offer. ok Fries it is. Thankfully he was satisfied with his lunch (you can't really mess up a grilled cheese and fries. But the experience left me with no reason to return.

Zero stars. I'm a loyal customer who comes here monthly. Lately I've noticed it's been going downhill. I ordered the flatbread special on 01/23/22. When it came to the table I saw a roach baked in the cheese. I called the management over and they basically laughed about it and told me be grateful we didn't charge you for an extra topping. As I was leaving I saw a few more of these suckers when the bathroom light turned on. Sorry but I'd rather not eat here again. Not to mention how my whole family had food poisoning the next day.

It's a really good standard diner. On the Jay and Cheryl diner rating scale it gets a 32 (out of a possible 40). It lost points on the bland, but overall satisfying coleslaw/pickle platter. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken Caesar salad without asking for the dressing in the side. Drenched in dressing, but you know what?... it made it awesome. I couldn't eat the soupy bit on the bottom of the dish, but the portions here are so good I was full anyway. Didn't know a dish came with dessert and when I asked for the check the waiter told me to pick an item from the case to bring home... surprise dessert gets an extra few points. Dennis and the crew know how to run a diner.
