I would rather give everything away before patronizing Once Upon A Child. But Not Once will I be a Fool. There is little to no communication on how they operate. It was hours before I was notified that an offer was made for $8.00. Quite a few pieces unworn with tags. Then I was told I had to make it back before end of day. I was all the way across town by then. You have to do better by offering people a better return. A lot of the work is done for you. Especially if the tag is still on.

The staff is courtesy and helpful, but the only issue is the store size is the smallest OUAC I’ve ever visited so there isn’t too much to purchase .They also cannot afford to buy too many things from customers because there is not enough storage space in the store.they should try to relocate to a bigger storefront, the bigger space the more to display the more money you will earn from the customers.

They need to change their schedule, they don't close at 8. I went at 6pm and it was closed.

If you’re planning to sell children’s clothing here—especially if you’re not local to Long Island—I’d suggest saving yourself the trip. I went today, and even though it had just hit 12 PM, they were already no longer accepting clothing. It was frustrating, especially since I later called another location in Westchester County and they did accept my items—they even said they take clothing until 7 PM. I won’t be returning to the Long Island location.

My mom was a customer here since I was a little girl and now that I have children of my own, I have been coming here for all of my children as well. I absolutely love this small business, whether it is to find name, inexpensive clothes, or to sell things that my children do not need anymore

I have been a customer here since 2022 and loved buying clothes and toys from here. I wanted to try to sell my kids clothes, but had a recent experience and it was disappointing and left me feeling disrespected. I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. After waiting for assistance, I was finally approached with an attitude that made it seem like I was bothering them. Staff is very rude.
I truly wanted to continue supporting this business, but after this experience, I will not be returning. I hope the management sees this and works on treating future customers with more courtesy and professionalism.

PLEASE READ! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE W/ WORKER JEN.
I had an unpleasant experience at this location today, approximately 11:10 AM. The issue revolves around the unprofessional behavior and lack of proper customer service exhibited by one of the employees, Jen.
I arrived at the store, unloaded my items, and proceeded to the register, only to be informed by a pregnant worker that they were no longer accepting items for the day. I explained that I had called the store earlier that morning at 9:02 AM and was not informed of any time cutoff. Had I been made aware of this information, I would have gladly arrived before 11 AM.
The pregnant worker in the black shirt then inquired with a colleague, who confirmed that I could still sign in. After following the instructions to sort out my items in a clear bin, I approached the desk to sign in. At that point, Jen, who was wearing glasses and had a full head of gray hair, approached me. She scolded me with an attitude, stating that next time I needed to arrive before 11 AM, as that was the cutoff time, which I had not been told. I politely explained that I was not informed of this when I called earlier that day. Jen responded aggressively, saying, “NO YOU WERE TOLD, I listen to all the conversations, I know they told you.”
At this point, I asked Jen not to speak to me in that manner, as I was never told the cutoff time, and her questioning of my character was both unprofessional and uncalled for. Keep in mind, customers were in the store. Despite my attempts to maintain calm, Jen continued to argue with me, claiming I was lying. This hostile interaction was both disturbing and upsetting. It is deeply concerning that an employee would treat a customer in such a dismissive and condescending manner, particularly in an environment that should prioritize respect and care.
My husband overheard the exchange and decided it was best for us to leave, as we no longer felt comfortable supporting the store under these circumstances. When I asked for Jen’s name and informed the staff that I would be filing a complaint, she callously responded, “I hope I get fired.” This comment, coupled with her behavior, makes me feel even more compelled to file a formal complaint and review. If Jen is dissatisfied with her position, it is clear she does not belong in a customer-facing role.
I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated, and I believe Jen’s conduct was not only inappropriate but also damaging to your store’s reputation. Her behavior was unacceptable, and I am deeply offended that she questioned both my character and integrity. She needs to go.
I trust you will look into this matter and take the appropriate steps to ensure that no other customer has to endure such an unpleasant experience in the future. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.

I’ve visited this store three times now, and each time I’ve encountered issues with their operating hours. According to both Google and Apple Maps, the store is supposed to be open until 8 PM, but on two different occasions, I found it closed well before 6 PM.
I appreciate that businesses may need to adjust their hours unexpectedly, but it would be really helpful if the store could update their online information to reflect current hours. I was looking forward to shopping here, but the inconsistency has made it frustrating. I hope they can resolve this issue for future customers!

Store was closed today before 8. Traveled nearly 20 miles to go to this place because it said it was open online. It even has the hours by the door and it said they close at 8 but when I got there at 6, it was closed.

All clothing is purchased from $1-$2.50 per item. Just keep that mindset there.

The people weren’t rude at all in my case, they were nice, however, I did leave there confused. My baby is now 7 months, I left a bag of clothes for them to go through, since they say it will take a couple of hours, and they called me and say that they only need clothes 12m and up..
Rather than just watching everyone leave their clothes, it would make more sense to say “Just to let you know, we only need sizes…..” before they leave their stuff with you. Lol. Just very odd, I live close so it wasn’t the end of the world to waste my time and gas but it was still odd & an inconvenience. If I lived far I would have been pissed making two trips there to be told that they don’t need my sizes. I told the woman that I just wish they would have told me they needed bigger sizes before I left the stuff there & she shrugged. O_o.
Moral to the story, just ask them if they need your sizes before leaving your stuff lol
