My doctor has been a great help but, regarding this particular practice location, it used to be okay. Recently, it's as if this place just shut down. My prescription was running low, my pharmacy reached out for the refill and was met with no response multiple times, I called directly multiple times within business hours and never got a response. I left voicemail without a response. I've now run out of medication and will attempt to reach out to my PCP and my pharmacy for hopefully an emergency dosage due to the ineptitude of this facility. I should suggest an edit to Google that this place is closed until they can gather the resources to indicate signs of life there.EDIT: I got through the following week and found out my doctor left the practice, so I had to set up a new appointment with another doc and leave a message for the administrator of my former doctor for a refill. Had to find this all out the hard way, I guess. My PCP got me an emergency dosage in the meantime, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Good medical care, absolutely horrendous billing!! I was charged the fee of $375 or wait 2 months for the next new patient appt (due to unforeseen insurance issues). It broke our bank account to pay that much without warning but my kid is worth it so I did, being told that I would get a refund after the insurance was verified. The insurance was verified within a few business days but it took 7 WEEKS for the refund to even be mailed AND they made it out to the wrong person! Now they tell me if could take ANOTHER 7 WEEKS for it to be corrected!

I have gone to Stony Brook Neurology a few times now and I must say that they are amazing!!! I went due to my headaches and P.A. Stoebe is just the best. He has helped get my headaches under control, and prevent them from occurring more often. But the staff is beyond FANTASTIC!!! They are very nice and understanding. Always with the smiles even with the masks on. I really wish that I could give more than 5 stars.

Office continuously hangs up after calls go through on purpose. At least close the line or let the patient know that you’ll be with them later and not just answer to not say anything and hanging up on the person.

Staff if very welcoming, Dr Kowalska was very nice and offered great advice for my headaches. Would definitely recommend coming to this facility.

Very bad experience, they make you wait a long time to answer the phone and when they do, they cancel the call without giving an answer. I do not recommend it at all. ??

I have been seeing Dr Mackay for a couple months now. My appts with her are usually very smooth with minimal wait time. However, for the impact test I was scheduled for 4pm. Which when I arrived they said they did not have a room for me to do my test & it would be a wait. Which was fine I figured I could wait 20-30 minutes no problem. Instead 2 hours had passed and still no room was available, (after everyone had come and gone for appointments). I drive an hour to get here, I wish they would have just called me to reschedule if they saw that they could not see me that day which one of the nurses had said “I told them that this morning we didn’t have room for her”. I figure I will be waiting well past 3 hours just for a test that doesn’t even require a staff member. (They sign in to the computer & you do the test online by yourself) honestly something that could 100% be done from home.Update: after I finally had enough of waiting I asked if I can just reschedule. Turns out they had thought I was already seen & had left. Wow. Then tried to blame it on me saying they were calling my name which absolutely was not true I sat in my chair for the whole 2 & 1/2 hours. I work in a busy Dr’s office for stonybrook, I absolutely know how it can get. But I always check on my pt’s especially if I know they have been waiting more than 2 hours!! SMH. This is the WORST experience I have ever had at a healthcare facility.

I’m not the one to normally write reviews, but I needed to warn anyone who’s going to Denise Wahrheit for help. She’s probably one of the worst doctors I’ve ever come across in my life. Not only did I have to wait months for just a follow up appointment from the sheer amount of rescheduling she did, but after all that waiting, she flat out tells me she doesn’t want to get involved with my condition, something that she specializes in herself. The moment I came into her office, I’m met with hostility over a condition I can’t help having and then, I’m told that she doesn’t believe me. Honestly, I’ve never had an issue with any doctor from Stony Brook Medicine, but Denise Wahrheit is embarrassing to represent this company.

I have been seeing Dr. Kowalska on and off for ~5+ years for headaches/migraines after having many less than desirable appts with various neurologists. Dr. Kowalska is knowledgeable and works with her patients to better understand and treat issues, as in my case I had previously tried many medications without relief. While suffering long term from migraines is tedious (as I’m sure many can relate), Dr. Kowalska has helped me to manage my pain some and I have trust and patience in her treatment plan.I have also always had a positive experience with the medical assistants/nurses. While the office is often busy and sometimes overwhelming, they typically run a pretty tight ship. The only thing I would improve is to make an online system to book or reschedule appointments, communicate questions with providers, see lab results, etc. to make the overall environment less hectic.

This facility and its associates lack bedside manner, consideration and overall sensitivity. They aren't observant and bark orders without thinking of a patients well-being. Their treatment of patients is deplorable.

I feel like I see a dynamic duo!Susan Mackey is by far one of the most incredible physicians I have ever met. She is caring, extremely thorough, honest, and kind. I'm a pretty complex person and what I appreciate most is that she takes her time to listen to your troubles and genuinely wants to help solve the issues that you're having. Whether it's an office visit or returning a call back, I've never encountered any communication flaws in the almost 3 years of seeing her for Adult ADHD & Concussion issues. She'll even correspond with my Migraine/Sleep Specialist Christopher Stoebe and together, they'll find a way to help me get through whatever struggles I'm facing. It's all about being healthy and I'm thankful that Susan is a problem solver!Christopher Stoebe is also the other amazing physician who I have seen for 6 years and has helped me along the way for migraines, jaw, muscle pain, and sleep apnea! He is caring, down to earth, honest, and knows his stuff! He takes time to listen to your troubles and pays attention to every detail you say. He always responds to calls and messages promptly, and never leaves you confused about your treatment. Like Susan, he's a straight shooter - he keeps things straight to the point, but always with humor and a smile. Chris is genuine and always determined to solve your medical issues and accommodates to your needs. Thankful to be in his care till the day he retires which I hope is never!I'm lucky to see both providers for different things and that they'll come together when I needed it most. They are the walking definition of quality care!

MY SON had the appointment with Denise Wahrheit which would have been his first time seeing her since she keeps rescheduling his appointments. My husband arrived at 7:57am and was not called up to the front until 8:05 which at that point Denise was in the front at the fax machine and told the front staff "she will not see my son as she came in on her own time to see him and her schedule is booked from 8 on"***Not to mention we originally had an appointment scheduled with her later in the day that she canceled. she only offered a 7:45 appointment after I complained.This is completely unprofessional she clearly is a high maintenance Nurse practitioner. Her own time is 15 min for my child? completely disgusting!I have worked with high volume MD's for 10+ years and in all my time with them they never refused any patient regardless of how late they are or how booked their schedules are.Just because you have NP at the end of your last name doesn't mean your time is more important then anyone else.I also posted this review on Saturday right after this happened and my review was deleted!!!

I’ve been a patient here for nearly ten years. Over the last five years the quality has gone down. I’d have to wait over two hours past my appointment time to see my doctor. The past two years I’ve had hurdles getting my medication filled. They cancelled my appointment the day before without refilling my prescription. I’ve now run out of my medication and my doctor has not signed a new prescription. The only holdup has been needing a doctors signature. The front desk has been helpful, but the doctors are negligent with patient care.

Not professional at all. We waited and knocked on the door to be answered and it was 10 mins of waiting outside finally door opened. The staff says we’re late and doctor can’t see us anymore. Well maybe if you answered us earlier then we wouldn’t be this “late”. Made appointment week ahead of time so we can be canceled right then and there. This is just awful. I believe the doctor is good just the staffs lack of basic knowledge of how to interact with people in a nice way.
