Shelter Island Heights Pharmacy is a charming old-time pharmacy and drug store, an island institution for over one hundred years. It is small but fully stocked, one of the most organized and well-supplied stores, where you can find virtually anything you might need, including generic brand items that work just as well as the name brands at a fraction of the price. Adjoining the pharmacy is a griddle and fountain, a great place for casual breakfast and lunch all year long. It offers delicious food with memorable meals everyone enjoys, from the best bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and homemade hashbrowns to blueberry pancakes, homemade soups, and Hershey's ice cream milkshakes. The friendly counter is the Shelter Island place to meet a friend or neighbor, where you can watch your meal being prepared and enjoy the real and authentic atmosphere. It is a very local spot that welcomes everyone, with outdoor seating under big canvas umbrellas. The staff is wonderful and charming, providing friendly counter service. It can be very busy in the summertime, but takeaway is great, best if you phone-in ahead of time.

I went out to the reservation for a hike and got struck by poison ivy, these guys had what I needed to clean my skin and avoid the worst, I’m so grateful for that.
