Our dog, Max (and a few years ago our dog Jack) is a patient at The Animal Hospital. The entire staff are terrific! Every time I call with a concern or just a need to make an appointment, the clerical staff is professional and friendly. The techs and doctors are terrific, too. We re-located to this area of NY seven years ago and are so glad a new neighbor had recommended The Animal Hospital.

I brought my two cats in for lily poisoning and they immediately took my girls in and got them the treatments that they needed and saved their lives. I am so grateful for the staff and doctors at The Animal Hospital who took such amazing care of my cats.

I brought my cat there yesterday. He was doing fine until they brought him into the back. Next thing I know, he's dead. If I were you, I wouldn't go there. ? If I could rate a negative number of stars, I would.

I can't say enough about how great the vets, techs, and all support staff are here! They have helped so much during urgent situations with our dogs. One dog with a chronic condition has received frequent top notch care. The staff members are very patient in communicating with the crazy dog parents too! I highly recommend this group!

I don't know how I haven't yet written a review about this place! They are *amazing*. My guinea pig, meatloaf, has had bumblefoot/recent health issues because he's a rescue that was abandoned in the park. They've taken amazing care of him and my three other guinea pigs, and they've always answered promptly and taken me in last minute when I need help. Super kind, and they even named me client of the month! Seriously, I am so grateful for finding them and I'm not at all surprised they have such a long client list- they deserve it.

Update: Since my prior review, the practice manager reached out to me. After a short discussion about my experience I was able to get an appointment in a week.I truly prefer to bring my pets here and I'm very glad I was able to resolve my concern for my pup's wellbeing. She enjoys her visits there. This place is very welcoming. All the vets I've met are great. Nice secluded spot. My pup loves to go here! I feel very assured she's receiving quality care here.

Dr. Lexi has been our cats’ veterinarian for 13 years. Dr. Lexi is a gifted vet with expertise and compassion who always takes her time to discuss her observations and methodological treatment options. She answers questions with patience and thoroughness. Once when we brought our cat in for scheduled surgery, Dr. Lexi intuited that something was wrong and that he should not have the operation that day. Instead he was tested further via ultrasound which indicated the need for a biopsy. He then underwent one surgery to cure the original issue and to have the biopsy instead of experiencing the trauma of TWO invasive surgeries/recuperations. This also allowed cancer treatment to begin at a very early stage.- Every vet technician has been caring and accommodating. In particular, Maureen has provided compassionate support and knowledgeably answered our questions for the past 13 years.- The office staff is friendly and helpful, the office is clean, and appointments are timely. We highly recommend this very caring practice!

These ‘people’ are nasty, mean, and disorganized. We’ve called a few times trying to get an appointment for our newly adopted dog, who has already been seen here repeatedly having been brought in by her lovely foster family previously. We were told that we would receive a call for an appointment and never did, this morning we were treated horrifically on the phone. They claimed to have no record of us calling for the appointment or of the rescue agency trying to set it up, and were incredibly Rude and insulting. Do not bring your loved ones here.

Absolutely excellent vet hospital. They always work hard to get my animal in for random issues but never seen overbooked when we have an appt. I've always been impressed from reception to vet technicians to practicing Dr's, they always remember my animal and treat him like their own

Caring and Compassionate! Last week we had to make the hard decision to euthanize our loving old dog Tipsy because of many end-of-life health issues. We made an appointment, and when we got there, I called inside to say that we wanted to wait outside until the last minute to bring him in because he always became anxious and unnerved in the waiting room, and we wanted his last moments to not be stressful. To our surprise, they offered to do the procedure outside, and brought out a blanket, some water and tissues. For 20 more minutes, Tipsy was able to bask in the sun (as he always liked to do) and enjoy every last minute! Dr. Melinda and Dr. Lexi, as well as all the vet techs, are wonderful, compassionate and caring, and we are grateful for having them for our dog's care.

This clinic is the best in the capital region! Well worth the 30 minute drive even in an emergency. Every single staff member is incredibly kind. I have never had an issue getting my pups in to be seen even at the last minute. One of my pups was very sick earlier in the year and spent quite a few days back and forth for care and eventually had an ultrasound which was scheduled for the next day. There happened to be a snow storm that morning and the tech was running late. Even while waiting curbside we were informed the entire time of why we were waiting. I was glad we were kept in the loop and not just waiting wondering if they forgot about us. They also called to check on Hera several times. Whether it be a routine visit or a sick visit my pups have received the best care. If you want top notch care, this is the place you want to be!

I live an hour away from The Animal Hospital and can’t think of bringing my fur babies anywhere else! The staff is friendly and helpful. I know that no matter what doctor my dogs are being treated by that they are in good hands. The office is clean and inviting. Dr Lexi and her team will take great care of your fur babies.

DO NOT BRING ANY TYPE OF ALSO WILD SPECIES HERE. THEY EUTHANIZE NON RELEASABLE ANIMALS!!Made the mistake of having my husband take a disabled squirrel that my son had saved as a baby, and which we'd had for a year, here because we could not reach a rehabber and thought that he needed immediate treatment for an issue. They told my husband that they would treat him and then he would be released to a rehabber. I actually was waiting to hear back from a rehabber that worked with squirrels and was willing to take him. LATER THAT DAY THEY THEN CALLED ME TO TELL ME THAT THEY ALREADY EUTHANIZED HIM HAVING GIVEN NO TREATMENT BECAUSE HE WAS NOT RELEASABLE. HE WASN'T RELEASABLE BEFORE WE BROUGHT HIM IN!!Update from my son" During the covid lockdowns I found a baby squirrel that had gotten hurt. Because of his injury he couldn't run straight and had been starving and was blind. When we brought him home he had to quarantine just like people do when they are sick. With good food his vision came back. Mom said that once he could run straight he would have to go outside and if he didn't we'd take him to a santuary in PA that's like a school where you learn about animals. But I loved the squirrel and talked to him and made sure he had his favorite hazelnut. He liked to sleep and loved the blanket I gave him. I saw he had a problem with his pee spot and told mom. She said he had to go to the vet. My Daddy took him and I packed his favorite food and snacks. The said they were going to treat him. My Dad said he'd pay whatever it cost for the treatment.Instead the vet killed him. They did not even let me say goodbye. I wish they could go to jail. You should not kill people's lives ones and not let them say goodbye. Since they won't go to jail I hope they have something taken away and not get to say goodbye then maybe they wouldn't do this. People who don't care about animals or people shouldn't pretend to want to help them."

Update: We ended up speaking with the business owner who addressed the major issues with how we and the animal were treated. It is very important that everyone realize that in NYS any type of animal that exists in the wild, NYS has actual laws against individuals having them and regulates veterinarians that animals that are deemed unreleasable are euthanized. It is exceedingly important that issues without obvious outcomes requiring euthanasia be referred to Upstate Wildlife rehabilitation FIRST. And that the animal goes to the vet with your knowledge that certain issues ensure euthanasia. DO NOT BRING ANY TYPE OF ALSO WILD SPECIES HERE. THEY EUTHANIZE NON RELEASABLE ANIMALS!!
