If you want a bank stuck in the 80s
Using index cards, outdated floppy disk computers and does not care at all about its clients
Well Apple Bank is for you!
Good Luck

Been an account holder since the early 90's. I typically visit the Smithtown or Commack locations. The Smithtown branch was closed for indefinite amount of time, likely due to Covid. Fine. Upon entering the branch to use the ATM machine, there are notices all over the windows saying it's closed but it's unclear if it's indefinitely or when it would reopen. There are new ATM machines that say that envelopes are available yet - you're not supposed to use envelopes with them any longer. Makes no sense. Since the Smithtown branch was closed, I went to the Commack branch. It was 1:05. They were people inside. I tried to enter the bank and the door was locked. The woman inside at the desk saw me, and pointed her pen at me. Whatever that means. There were at least eight notices in the window, all stating different things about Covid and wearing masks another mentioned New Years hours. Woman told me that now all branches close at 1 PM and to look at the sign. I asked where this was mentioned in any of the 8+ notices in the window. This information was buried in the middle of a Xerox print with the title being about Saturday banking hours. I would think that an overall change in all banking hours - across all banks- would warrant a better system of notifying customers. Perhaps as part of the signage on the doors? How about an email notifying depositors of this change? Online banking with Apple is also terrible. I was there five minutes past closing with a large cash deposit to make. There was no way I was going to attempt this on an Apple ATM that also had all kinds of confusing signage about envelopes being available but don't use them because now they don't use envelopes. It makes no sense. Of course In spite of the whole bank being staffed, they would not accommodate me, even to take my deposit.

first time customer entered bank today with plan to open a CD account. Sat done and it was quickly very apparent this woman wasn't the slightest bit interested in any of this. Mind you I am dealing with a bank official, not just a teller. There was no warm welcome. No hand shake. Nothing. When I tried to open the account she advised me I needed to have a second proof of address besides my drivers license.. I managed to pull up a membership card online with my address and then she insisted I email a copy to her. That didn't work and she refused to make a Xerox copy. Not helpful in any way. It was at this point that I decided to leave and she didn't seem fazed one bit. That kind of apathy sucks. Apple lost my business.
