I have been a loyal Visionworks customer for over 10 years and have never been treated or spoken to the way I was today. I recently decided to try a different location that is closer to my workplace, but I could have never anticipated how unpleasant the experience would be. Today, April 24, 2025, at 12:58 PM, I received a call from an associate asking for my insurance information. I responded, "I was under the impression that my information would carry over." Instead of a courteous reply, the associate--who was audibly chatting with someone else while speaking to me--responded in a shockingly rude tone: "If I had that, I would not be calling." I do not believe my question warranted such an unprofessional and disrespectful response. As a result, I canceled my appointment. I refuse to accept that kind of treatment, especially over such a simple and reasonable question. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and genuinely regretting my decision to try a different location. I am now seriously reconsidering my continued relationship with Visionworks. This was not acceptable. Not at all.

I've gone to several Visionworks over the years but this was my first time at the Smithtown location. The optometrist was very professional and nice, and I was helped quickly and thought I had a good experience. I found out later that I had been charged for a $34.99 protection plan I did not want or need, and which my health savings account would not pay for. I asked for a refund and was given one, but it turned out was actually only a store credit, so I still have to pay back my HSA so they will approve the rest of the cost of the glasses. I was told that Josie adds this protection plan on all the time without customer approval and nothing is ever done about it. When I confronted her about it on my 2nd visit to the store, she didn't even apologize for doing it. Very unprofessional.

I sincerely enjoyed my experience, which is hard to find in medical necessity scenarios Everyone was truly kind and took their time. I never for one second felt rushed or like just a number. Again, very hard to find, but I would recommend this specific Vision works to anyone. They are a bunch of very caring understanding kind of people who work at this location. I’m thankful for my experience to all that work there.

Staff was great! Very Friendly started my appointment on time. Everybody knew what they were doing.
I have had bad experiences at previous VisionWorks (Patchogue, Babylon) but this one was great and I am sticking to Smithtown Visionworks.

Don’t remember year or date but for over 30 years Davis - vision works has been the supplier of my glasses I would not go anywhere else.

The manager Tom was sooo nice and helpful. Everyone @ this location was so kind and helped me pick out the best pair of glasses for my face shape. The process was easy and I appreciate the team here !

Do not recommend smithtown vision works! I had a 10:45 appointment and i was a bit late but i didn't too stressed because i know they have a 10 min wait policy i got there before the 10 min was up at 10:52 and the doctor had already canceled my appointment before my 10 min were up. They didn’t have no kind of sympathy. I was with my new born baby and explained i just traveled very far to make it. Nobody seemed to care or help. Very disgusted with this establishment.!!

It was very easy to make an appointment when I wanted it. Everyone was pleasant and helped me understand how my eyes were and helped with new glasses.
I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time and always receive my new glasses quickly.

Davis Visionworks is the place to go for eye testing and glasses. Make an appointment on line. Go for your appointment look for your frames, before you know it the tests are done, you have seen the Doctor, and have gotten a pretty good deal. My family has have been going there for about 10 years. Some places you are waiting for about 30 to 45 minutes before they call you.

I would not recommend this establishment due to its poor service. The younger counter staff's propensity for discussing customers in a derogatory manner with colleagues creates tension. Moreover, the physician's competence was disappointing, as evidenced by the incorrect filling of my prescription glasses.
