Reps were both sluggish and disinterested. On pick up, we had to wait for car to be cleaned. Paperwork lacked any detail: make, model, mileage. Car was fine, workers are lacking. Would not repeat.

These people could make a proud man kill himself with there backwards phych tricks they use!! Ticket pulled hurtz! Do you see how many people put a one star! That's just wild, and that's because we can't put zero Stars or it wouldn't be accepted as a review. + SECRET- The 20% luxury tax that they charge you at the end as a surprise._yea its per location! Wild!
Next they couldn't even wash the car! I took a video when I got the car. Dirty as it could be and they told me that they weren't able to use water because of something environmental, said I could call customer service. That came from the manager and it just so happened that the other 60 cars on the lot we're spotless and I mean wiped down and like vacuum perfect. Maybe even some air freshener. I took a video of the guy when he walked out to clean the car and then when I thought he looked like he was going to come inside I walked out and pointed out so many things. All on video. Just writing this makes me want to call my mother's dang lawyer! 😕

Andrew and the team was very helpful and accommodating. My rental was clean and fueled up. They kept to their word with pricing and they were all around great. I will be using Smithtown Hertz again in the future and highly recommended them to anyone!

Im sure everyone just leaves the bad reviews, but i needed a car quick because my car broke down and I needed to get back to another state and rent a car for a one-way - I spoke with Jamal earlier in the morning who said to call back around 2 or 3 pm, well I did and he had 3 cars available, I went right down and he got me a quick rental for the service and price agreed upon, no hidden charges or surprises.

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. They are awful and will charge for things they shouldn’t.
I was a long standing customer of Hertz before COVID and always made presidents circle within two months each year. I had tons of points that were going to expire with the changes to the program so I rented instead. All was paid and I was good to go.
I picked up the car and it was filthy. It also had a lot of damage I could not see until I got into the shade (because it was filthy). I completed my rental and arrived 15 minutes before I was scheduled to return. I filled the tank right before. He immediately checked the mileage and gas level and told me he would email me the receipt. This was Saturday. I received the email with the receipt on Monday with a late return and gas fee. When I tried to reach out there is no way to contact them directly. To make matters worse there is no way to get a corporate agent on the phone either. Now I have to submit an online request and wait for a response. This is ridiculous.
I rented from this location before and they were horrible then too.
Now that my points are gone and there is nothing tying me to Hertz I will take my business elsewhere. Congratulations Smithtown East. You have effectively lost Hertz a previously loyal customer.
Please save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else to rent your car.

Be very careful with these people. I had rented a car last week through expedia.com. I picked up the car, the service was fine and the car great. I dropped the car via after hours drop box. They added an extra day to the rental, a $12.00 fee for late return and since then an additional $100 has been charged to my credit card. HeRTZ has ZERO live service after the rental. I followed the routs they suggest but it looks like ai have to dispute the CC. HERTZ SUCKS AND THESE PEOPLE ARE SHADY.

My wife and I rented an EV from here while our car was being repaired. Check-out and check-in was quick and painless, all fees and charges were as expected - no surprises. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the car too, which was cheaper than the gas-fueled options and lots more fun.

Has the worst cars, not a place you would feel safe with renting a car for a family trip , and customer service sucks , HERTz need to do better !

Worst experience ever with a car rental , I wouldn’t even give it one star , never in my life have I ever experienced such bad customer service and vechile , never again booking with hertz and recommend everyone else not to either , first we get to the location for pick up and waited about 45 min or so for our vechile , it came and we left the lot and there was already a break issue we were experiencing within two blocks of leaving the location and smelt like weed , we turned around and went back , we reserved a 7 seater mini van for our weekend family getaway , but they only had a suv which we took cause we were left with no choice, they also didn’t clean the car properly , we realized on the road that anytime we put the heat on a plastic burning smell would come on , Saturday it was raining all day and we were unable to drive the car around cause the windshield wipers were not working , we called hertz multiple times but all we got was the voice operated system and if transferred to a office it was closed , today is day two of our trip and it’s raining again and we are stuck with a vechile without working windshield wipers and a burned smell if we put on the heat , we are paying for a rental we can’t even use , we have been uber ing everywhere , with two young kids and two old parents , waiting in the rain for Ubers , when we should been driving our rental that we payed for , and HERTZ is nowhere to be reached to help assist us , very frustrated and pissed off, I don’t recommend HERTZ or this location , save your family and yourself the headache and inconvenience
