This place is very bad, the owner of the house is a very difficult woman who doesn't let us enjoy the place, the place itself is not worth the money and in addition she asks us not to come through R&B and then she will give a discount, but basically this is how she steals money from her customers who don't have the insurance, do yourself a favor

Maple Cottage was beautiful and very relaxing. Jan was a responsive and considerate host. The home was so accommodating for our group of 4 sisters. The new renovations are gorgeous. The shoreline is lovely and peaceful. We spent many relaxing hours just enjoying the sound of the waves and searching for the beautiful rocks that comprise the beach there. Enjoyed the kayaks. Enjoyed hiking the trails in Beechwood State Park that can be accessed directly behind the cottage. The hot tub was exceptional. Visited area winery, brewery, farm stands and Sodus Point historic lighthouse. Really a special place.

This woman destroyed our trip. Bothered us all the time and has cameras inside the house. And at the end, she took from us more money that we agreed. She should be ashamed at herself!!

I've stayed here twice now for some time away with friends and family and each time it has been amazing. The houses are always clean and they are constantly improving the properties. My favorite is the new hot tub area with a perfect view of the lake I didn't want to leave. The surrounding area is beautiful too there's so many areas to explore like taking a kayak or canoe down the shoreline or getting lost on a deer trail in the woods, you'll never be bored here.

My husband, two kids, and I were lucky enough to be able to experience both the Maple Cottage and the Pine Cottage. Both have absolutely stunning views of the water even from inside the houses! Both were exceptionally clean, with beds that (I have to admit!) were more comfortable than ours at home. The kitchens/bathrooms were very well stocked with utensils, cooking supplies, towels, and organized with labels (very helpful as guests). Jan and her cleaning/maintenance crew clearly put a ton of time, effort, and heart into creating spaces for her guests that are as lovely and comfortable as possible. We cannot overstate Jan's hospitality! At Maple, we loved the modern yet cozy vibe. The enclosed/fenced-in deck was one of our favorite features. We loved enjoying the lake view there on the deck under the dappling shade of maple trees (while also knowing that our kids/dogs were enclosed). The Maple Cottage was personally my favorite of the two - it is sweetly decorated with a touch of cozy throwback styles while being crisp, clean, and updated. What a welcoming light and airy find!My kids'/husband's favorite was the Pine Cottage (don't get me wrong - I liked it very much too!) The decor is basically what you might describe as "Cozy Cottage" with lots of rich wooden details and vintage vibes. The newly renovated upstairs room of bunk beds is very cool. As a kid, this would have been my heaven! With bunk beds, a queen, new wood walls/ceilings, and a tv, my kids were completely set on Pine being their favorite! As my husband and I described our thoughts on the properties, we thought that for us personally, both cottages were cozy, Maple being slightly more light and modern, and Pine being more nostalgic and the perfect place anyone would love to cozy up in blankets during the holidays sipping on hot chocolate by the fire (or during the summer after a big day of kayaking like we did!)Both are uniquely furnishing/decorated and very inviting stays that blew our expectations out of the water. Jan is incredibly hospitable with a heart set on taking care of her guests. We've never met a kinder or more accommodating host!Jan gave a very impressive outline of places to eat, where to order pizza delivery, things to do, places to see, etc. We enjoyed the local public beach about 10 minutes away, as well as the Burnap Farms marketplace that Jan recommended. What a sweet local area! And the produce! So fresh, and so tasty. The hot tub space between the two cottages was also fabulous. We loved the smell of the cedar wood that lined the walls. It both looked and smelled luxurious. When the lake was too chilly for swimming, the hot tub was a total hit with the whole family. All in all, I cannot recommend both cottages enough. You can feel serene just enjoying the lakeside waves, or you can be adventurous exploring the state park literally across the street. You can chill on the deck or head out onto the private beach for swimming or kayaking. We already miss it. Thank you Jan for a wonderful family vacation!!!

Jan is a gracious host and pays attention to details. We have had multiple 5 star visits to the Secret Cove cottages. The setting on Lake Ontario is exceptional and couldn't be more perfect, anytime of the year. The amenities are in abundance, including the beautiful three season hot tub building on the property. We love this property so much, that we have reserved one of the cottages year-after-year.

Highly recommend! This cottage is an absolutely ideal spot to get away and relax. The views over Lake Ontario are tremendous and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Almost forgto to mention the new 6-person hot tub in a brand new pine finished spa area! There is boating, a fire pit, television, and lots of yard space for kids to run around. Marshmallow sticks greet you at the fire pit. Everything is well thought through, and the owners try and succeed in getting everything just right.

If you would enjoy a water front vacation with a gorgeous view on Lake Ontario, you'll love a stay at Ferryland. I've stayed there several times, but Jan has really elevated the experience with a brand new enclosed hot tub and game room building. The cottages are quite large to accommodate my big family with all of the comfort amenities you would want during a getaway vacation. The main feature is being right on the lake to enjoy swimming and water sports and gorgeous sunsets over the lake, but the whole package is a great experience with memories my kids and and all of us will treasure.

I have visited these cottages many times. They are all first class, very clean, nicely furnished, well kept, and offer a stunning view of the water. You can enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation on a private road with all the comforts of home. You will not be disappointed if you rent one of these. Judy C Kloosterman 7/10/2023

Had a great time at the cottage in the woods. Very cozy cottage. The coverd porch came in handy because we had a couple days of rain. Nice private backyard with great fire pit. The trail behind the house was beautiful. Beds very comfortable. Will be coming back!!

We had a lovely early-season weekend at the Cozy Cottage in the Woods last week. It is indeed "cozy" in the best sense of the word - comfortable for my husband and me, and for our adult son who stayed in the "kid's room" for one night. The house has a lovely view of the state park from the back porch, and of the lake (between houses) from the kitchen table and the front deck. It was chilly when we were there so we spent most of our time hiking in the state park rather than near the lake, but the lake is quite accessible about a block away. We have also rented Pine Cottage several times in the past and love it, but would rent the Cozy Cottage again in the future when our whole family isn't with us. Jan is a wonderful and experienced host!

Great place for a family getaway on the lake! I've been coming here with my family and friends for the last few years and am excited to be back in a couple of months. I cannot thank Jan enough for being so responsive and organized each time we stay at the cottage. She's truly one of the most proactive hosts I have interacted with (I regularly rent cottages / houses to vacation with family and friends) as she provides thorough instructions prior to the stay and is very accommodating. Obviously, staying at a cottage is different than booking a hotel as most AirBnBs require guests to run a load of laundry and take the garbage out after the stay, but the instructions are clear and generally a pretty light lift compared to other cottages that I have stayed at. Both Maple and Pine cottages are relaxing and cozy -- the back decks are perfect for outdoor meals. I didn't think it could get more relaxing, but since we started coming here, Jan has also installed a hot tub! Highly recommend reaching out to Jan and staying at Ferryland!
