Just had our first wellness visit today with Dr Kate Hallquest for our two kitties Charlie and Sabrina. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. From front to back this staff is friendly, warm and caring. Dr Hallquest was thorough and gentle with her exam and you can tell she really loves animals. Her assistant was also super sweet with my kitties. Its nice to know I've found a place to bring my furbabies that will care for them like they were there own while not banging you over the head with pricing. Thank you Somers Animal Hospital!

By Francine Hirsch - Somers Animal Hospital is the only hospital where I will take my dogs. From the amazing receptionists at the front desk to all the technicians performing so many difficult tasks and giving you so much support, taking time to explain everything to you. Of course to all the wonderful doctors who are always there for you. I cannot say enough about this hospital and would always recommend them.

We really love the care and service at Somers Animal Hospital (SAH). The cost is very reasonable as well. Everyone is very compassionate and caring. I couldn’t be happier with the hospital, Doctor and other staff. Read on for more details. We took our senior dog to SAH after receiving bad news from another vet. We were told that we should put down our beloved girl and there was little we could do for her. Considering that she appeared old but fine, we wanted to explore our other options for extending her life as long as possible, provided she was comfortable and not suffering.SAH was very accommodating and helpful with getting her medical records transferred over and setting us up to see one of their veterinarians for a second opinion. On the day of the appointment we were seen by Dr. Hallquest. The Doctor spent plenty of time listening to our pet’s history and the recent trends leading up to the terminal diagnosis. Dr. Hallquest was versed in our dogs medical history, evidencing that time was taken to learn about or dog before the appointment.Dr. Hallquest then conducted her exam and took our dog inside for a sonogram. After the exam, Dr. Hallquest gave us her diagnosis and our options. She thoroughly explained everything to us, and even provided counseling and helpful tips toward deciding what was the best thing for us to do.After helping us navigate the various complicated factors in determining a loved-one’s fate and providing us with realistic expectations, we came to a comfortable decision.Based on our preference, Dr. Hallquest put together a treatment and monitoring program that we feel was the right choice for us.We are grateful for the knowledge, experience, and the wonderful insight of Dr. Hallquest. We are also very impressed with the hospital’s state-of-the-art capabilities. Although the other vet had a different opinion, which is not an error nor misconduct, we will be bringing all our pets to Somers Animal Hospital because of their generosity of time and knowledge walking us through such a difficult decision.

Dexter did so well here. I was told his rehab would take a while and it did. But he's a young dog so totally worth it.He always looked forward to going for his treatments and Serena and all the staff were so loving and patient towards him.We will miss our visits there. Dex improves daily.Thank you to Dr. Walker and the great staff for your care.

We brang our senior dog Max here to see Dr. Christina Buchter. It was the worst experience possible. We went to her to see if we could enhance his mobility. All we wanted was to have her check his legs. That's not what happened. Instead, she roughly took our senior dog, picked him up around his stomach, squeezed him tightly as we watched his eyes pop out of his head. It all happened very quickly. As soon as we were done with her rough evaluation, that didn't even involve my dog's legs we brought him home and he began to have labored breathing. The next day, Max passed. We believe this all happened due to her mishandling of him and caused something to rupture in his stomach. When we confronted her on this she stated that this check up she did was "routine" and "if she did rupture something he only would have had a few days left". She showed little to no remorse. Dont take your dog here, especially a senior dog.

Dr. Blum and the entire staff at Somers Animal Hospital were incredibly kind and patient on Max's first visit under less than ideal circumstances. They all made the best of a tough situation. Thank you!
