Totally satisfied with the two men who checked out and cleaned my chimney. They even resealed the trim around the chimney to stop water entry. Fair price too.

I was willing to pay a little more to support a local business when ordering a fireplace insert, but apparently this business doesn't want or need my support. Phone calls not returned, appointments not kept, didn't even respond to my builder. I wasted three weeks of valuable renovation time.

Reviews of this store seem to fall into extremes. Unfortunately our experience was negative. We made an appointment to diagnose the problem with a two-sided gas fireplace that hasn’t worked since we bought our house a few years ago. Scheduling was a nightmare, with excuses about not having enough staff and a new employee making a mistake. Finally a technician went to the house and his diagnosis was that the fireplace was burned out and broken, which was obvious to everyone. He made zero effort to offer solutions. He said the store would be in touch. They weren’t. Several phone calls later and we got a cryptic message saying they couldn’t find a replacement unit. I called and spoke to someone who promised to look into it. Never got a call back. This has been going on since November. They make clear that they have no interest in customer service. Go elsewhere.

I called the office on June 14 to try and get an appointment to have them come service as they have done several times in the past my gas fireplace. for various reasons they could not give me an appointment until today. I was given a two hour time window for when they were going to arrive and when they weren't there halfway through we contacted the office and were told that they had no record of our appointment. Even though I had a telephone number the date I called the name of the person I spoke to who does work there! no record and can't come today tomorrow and I wasn't offered anything to compensate for them dropping the ball. I will now call the other places that were recommended to me by my builder and tell all my friends and neighbors what a lovely experience it was to deal with this business.

Not only did I wait three months for service, but they left me with a completely non functional fireplace. when I called ( took three calls to get anyone to acknowledge) I was accused of not calling the correct place because she didn't have record of the specific work despite me having visited four times in person and after she referenced my invoice. She said she would have to call "her guys" to drive by my house and get back to me. Never heard back from them. finally called a reputable company in port Jeff who told me the work I had done was worthless. save your time, your money and your sanity and go somewhere else.

Had Hampton Hearth come to clean fireplace. asked if I a wind draft. Assumed it meant good airflow for a fire. Worker put small cloth in front of fireplace and nothing on the sides to cover anything else. as they were cleaning soot was everywhere. I didn't realize I would have to get a cleaning person in to clean after them. My appt window was from 3-5. Showed up around 7 pm. I would never recommend this company to anyone! if I didn't have to put one star to post this it would have been none.

In Fall 2014, I did extensive online research and shopped around at several Suffolk County dealers for a wood burning stove for my modest cottage near the North Shore. After being given the "Hey, little lady" treatment by one dealer who assumed that my boyfriend would be doing all wood- and stove-related labor (this dealer's shop has since closed), and a wildly overstated price by another dealer (who is still in business), I called these folks in Southold. They were courteous and respectful and took the time to understand my priorities, both practical and financial. Bryan was very upfront with me about procedures and costs, and gave me an estimate that was both reasonable and accurate. The installers came on time, did a beautiful job (no scratches on the floor or anything! nicely integrated chimney with roof and interior ceiling!) and did not leave any mess behind them. I couldn't be happier. The stove is now 1.5 winters old and there is a roaring blizzard out but I am snug and warm in here. Top quality product and installation. The stove is a Hampton H300. Thank you guys for a great job!

This place is a total rip off and does not honor its pricing. When you order something and it comes in , they double the price. Also when you order, they tell you an expected date that is totally incorrect. I ordered over $10,000 worth of furniture and they tried to deliver it over 2 months late ruining my entire summer. I should have read all of their poor reviews prior as well their review in Dan's Papers. I also asked around after the fact and was told by many others of their bad experience with this shop. You need to really research where you are buying from beforehand. I am just telling any future customers to really do your homework when buying your patio furniture. This is really not the place if you want good quality, on time delivery and for the price you paid. The owner was extremely rude and when the furniture actually did come in, she tried to charge me double!!! She said her pricing had changed during the time that I ordered. This is not how store should operate. I was told that they were actually closing down so I assume it is due to the really poor service and bad reviews. When buying furniture, go to a reputable store as I made a very bad mistake.

Soooo..... we made a appointment for this evening around 4:30pm, I made sure to get off work early and guess what.... no one showed up, not even a phone call. I may not live in a mansion but my money is still green, I thought giving my business to a local company was the right thing to do! Guess not!

Hampton Hearth is by far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They don't return phone calls, don't show up for service appointments, and treat you rudely should complain about being treated so poorly. For anyone who is trying to decide whether to deal with these jackals, let me save you a tremendous amount of heartache: don't do it. There are plenty of good and reloable fireplace companies out here. On the North Fork, North Fork Energy is a fine and responsive company to deal with. On the South Fork, the Sag Harbor Fireplaces Store couldn't be friendlier.Hampton Hearth is simply the worst: avoid at all costs.
