Excellent food! Grass-fed meats of all varieties and organic vegetables. Their smoked bacon is incredible! Thick cut and fantastic flavor.

Took my grandsons and they loved seeing the animals and collecting the eggs. It was a great experience for them.

Excellent people. Great quality produce and meat. We get turkeys here every year and they are unbelievable, I actually look forward to the turkey on Thanksgiving rather than the stuffing.

Bella Terra Farm is one of my favorite things about shopping at the Schenectady Greenmarket. Paul and Joan are great. The food they grow is the food I want to eat. And while I may never make it out to their farm in Sprakers, I buy as much of their food as I can. It's never enough. One of these days I'll call Paul ahead of time, before showing up for the farmers market, so he can put a few bone-in pork shoulders aside for me. Typically, I'm more of an opportunistic shopper, and just poke around on Sunday seeing what's available. That has its advantages too, and is how I scored my own piece of one of Paul's goats. The dried beans are also a fun treat. Joan brings dried beans still in their pods to the market. What I love about this is that my kids get a better sense of where their food comes from. And it turns cooking into a family project. There's something very satisfying about sitting around and shelling beans as a family. Food shouldn't be a commodity. And Bella Terra helps keep it special. I truly appreciate these guys and what they do. So even though telling more people about the farm may mean they sell out of things earlier in the day, limiting my own access to their stuff, it's important to share these treasures that are our local farms.
