Alice Austen Park is a beautiful and tranquil place with a great atmosphere. It offers amazing views of the Brooklyn shoreline, the Verrazzano Bridge, the Manhattan skyline, and even Jersey City. Visitors describe it as a serene space to stroll, breathe, and take in the best double view ever. The park provides a completely different but excellent experience, from fun, fantastic events with good crowds to quiet, quiet serenity. It features nice, wide open lawn areas perfect for leashed, friendly dogs. There are plenty of benches and shaded picnic areas to enjoy breakfast or lunch, though you must bring your own food. The park also includes a playground that feels very safe. It is a terrific, under-appreciated gem on Staten Island with a bit of working waterfront that is part of its charm.
