“Family Dollar on Jersey Street provides a wide variety of goods and items ranging from Hallmark greeting cards to icecream. This dollar store is vital to the community as it is one-stop shopping and consistently helps families & individuals alike. This dollar store was even open during the epic snowstorm NYC recently experienced! Today, I had the pleasure of meeting new staff person, Calvin, who did a superb job maintaining his patience and professionalism during an unusually BUSY Saturday morning with about 10 customers standing behind me on line. There was a delay on the register but Calvin remained CALM and pleasant, focusing on helping ME, despite frustrated customers on line. I praised Calvin for being so calm and accommodating to me. Calvin reported he just started a month ago, but I want to say he was a pro at handling a crowd of ppl and not getting much help. Hopefully management will provide more support & acknowledgement to those staff members who go the extra mile helping customers! Great job CALVIN! --- Cynthia”

The staff is usually friendly and the store is organized well enough that I can get in and out quickly, which I really appreciate when I am in a hurry.”

“Employees are very friendly. If you are a local, they remember you which makes for a great shopping experience. This store has done a turn around in the last couple of months. 2 years ago the store was very bare & stock was always low. Now, they restock twice a week and carry quality brands. It is VERY organized and clean. I always have a peaceful shopping experience. The line can get long sometimes but theres always 2-3 cashiers working. Best DT on the island.”
“I used to go to this store literally daily 😂 till I moved but anyhow they stay with the deals even recently I went they got back to school items that's 50cents they have Halloween n Thanksgiving things already out..the employees there are amazing..they need a security guard to be honest they put up with to much or a raise.. definitely will always be my favorite store..”
“Workers are very nice.on June 8 I feel bad for the cashiers who have to go back and forth with customers because customers don't want to follow the rules. A customer was online purchasing the rest of the baby shark baby wash and nail polish. The cashier politely told the customer they can not sell the item that rung up as a penny. The customer said but we buy them all the time in different stores and my cousin works in Richmond hill and he said we can. The customer walked out, so, as I was done paying they came back asking for a manager to sell it to them . A guy in the office room yelled just give it to her. Of course I'm nosey and want to know about penny items and I was told penny items are items that need to be taken off the shelf. For reasons like discontinuing ,old items. The customer didn't care. I wish she listened to the cashier.”

Everytime I walk up Tyrese is on the job busting his behind I forgot my cash yesterday his name but the females and the male cashiers are the most polite and well-mannered group of human beings.
From the vibe to the music to the stock shelves and even when the things not stop they tell you the truth on when it's going to be there in the best time to get it.
Please please don't ever close this store by one of these beloved employees, I feel like they're my family,
With the prices of food these days this store is our family's savior.

“A well stocked dollar store, I like going there for small things, like kitchen needs, cleaning supplies etc.. Has a very tiny parking spot and they even sell some plants and small fish (pets).Update: Honestly, nohing like a well stocked 99cent store. You can find almost anything here. Toys, crafts, school supplies, gardening supplies and tools. I recommend this!!!”
