I reserved a car days in advance. I got to the location 30 mins early only to find out they had no cars and didn't know when they would. I was forced to call customer service then drive to NJ to get a car for our trip that evening.

My go to place to rent a car is Hertz on Cary avenue on Staten Island. Tammi is so respectful, courteous overall a great person, she makes all my rental experiences extremely smooth with a smile and a great sense of humor !!!!!!

i always smile leaving this place both clerks are good and fast i had a blast with hyndai elentra what a car nice clean and great wheel allignment .wish they have some promotion, weekly rate. would love that !!! 5/5

I travel for business and rent cars throughout the US. This Hertz local edition location is hands down the best I've visited. The staff is consistently personable, they display great customer service skills and go above and beyond to value my business. Even through times of employee turnover, the service level has always remained high so I commend management as well for hiring good people and providing good training. I've read some of the negative reviews and have witnessed some unreasonable customers and most have been credit or corporate policy related, neither of which the local edition team should be negatively reviewed about. I highly recommend this Hertz Local Edition location!

My experience was pretty good. In and out with both getting the car and returning the car. My only complaint is that the car I was given was dirty. The overall experience was good.

I am never renting with hertz ever again, most ridiculous service ever. I made a reservation for suv weeks ago, when I reached the Staten Island location they told me they were out of suv and gave me a Tesla, which is not what I requested, and they said to go to Newark airport to exchange the vehicle as they have no SUV’s right now, when I reached there that was another long story, the lady closed off the tab by the time we went to the customer service dept to find out about exchange and another gentle man helped us out by exchanging the vehicle and told us no charge would be placed on my credit card, and that he waived off the fees, this was within a span of 3 hrsAnd after my trip I returned the vehicle.Today I see double charges on my credit card and when I called the customer service I was told that I was charged for returning the vehicle in Newark airport, and for one day rental, while I specifically cleared with the representative initially that I won’t be charged for any of this and none of this was documented on their side!! I mean you guys are the the worst rental service company!!!

Got a great price on 7 passenger vehicle, they even offer discounts for ages 50+. The 2 ladies who were working there were very friendly and efficient, both picking up and return went smooth and quick and the car was very clean. I would definitely rent from them again.

I made a reservation online for the next day. The price was correct.Once in the hertz agency, while asking for my card that I gave them.The agent is telling me it is a debit Card.I Said NO, I never had a debit Card.All my 3 Cards were considered as "Debit Card" by their system.All my Card are non U.S since am not resident.Even if I have already used the same credit Card with another rental car company, who considered it as credit Card. (Enterprise)Why Hertz didn't accepted it as it is. May be because it is a non U.S credit card.I had to call them to find a solution, they don't care at all. No solution found. The only suggestion is to cancel reservation ! What a poor service !They ruined my stay, I had so many engagements.I run away to the other rental car company.It was easy going...Never again with Hertz.

The staff was excellent and professional. I had to rent a car because my car was hit and ran in a parking lot. John and the rest of the staff were one of the bright spots in a bad experience. Thank you and highly recommend.

Great prices but POOR customer service. I cannot speak for other locations but can speak about this particular one. Today was the second time I had a reservation, and no cars were available when i went to pick up. The communication from the manager to employee is horrendous. They do absolutely nothing to accommodate their negligence. There is no point in calling corporate because they can care less about your issue unless you are one of their corporate accounts. There is no type of communication nor care from the employee/manager. Stay away and just go to Budget or Enterprise. You are better off paying more and actually having the car you reserved. This place does nothing but ruin your plans and aggravate you. Bring back Crystal who actually knew what she was doing as a manager.

Where do I even start? I made a reservation online for a car for 15 days. Went to pick up said car. Got to Hertz and the entire staff was outside chatting. Went inside and was told, no cars. Not only did they not HAVE any cars but they had no idea when a car might be available. They insisted they had feverishly called me prior. No missed calls on my cell and the phone number was correct. This isn't the stone age, I hardly think I was called at all. My ride to the place had already left. So an hour to close I could "wait" for a car with no guarantees or leave. The entire back and forth was a painful ordeal. I was assured up and down they would call if/when a car came in and would receive priority. I left and figured I would call next morning. Because, well you know.Don't even get me started on the poor guy who came in after me, who had been directedto drive to this location from NJ only to be told, nope bud you are SOL, no car for you either.Next day I called 2 minutes after they opened. Miraculous how a car was returned in two minutes!!!! Obviously someone had returned a car before close the day before, they just couldn't be bothered to call me. I arrive at the counter. Where I waited as they took care of two folks who arrived well AFTER me. I waited about 45minutes, imagine how long a non priority rental would have taken? I figured I would receive some sort of upgrade for my inconvenience, at the very least the car would be clean, right? Nah, not at Hertz where they just don't give a shit about you. The car was filthy inside and out, no wiper fluid, and the tire pressure light is on and all the air caps were missing....every, single, one.In conclusion. Stay the fuck away from Hertz. They suck. Spend a few more bucks somewhere else.

Professional service. Clean cars. I came here because the Avis on South Avenue had me waiting 2 hours for my reserved SUV. Called Hertz and was treated not only like they at least wanted my business, but that I was important.

We reserved the rental 4 days in advance .My daughter picked up the rental.Came to pick me up and vehicle had a faint but noticeable cigarette smell. Not that bad right, that was until on our trip to Ohio windshield wipers were needed and the driver side didn’t work also no windshield fluid. It was extremely dangerous not to mention a hazard. Upon return made the complaints was told that we should of added the fluid, purchased a new windshield wiper and sprayed air freshener. They would of reimbursed us. Wow Really…. I won’t be dealing with this location or this company again..And they have the nerve to charge me $50 for gas which was returned as it was given. And other fees that were constructed and just pure fabrication.
