As a 100% disabled veteran and Staten Island homeowner since 2001, I’ve always relied on my bank, USAA, for my financial needs. However, I recently needed to withdraw $6,000 in cash for an urgent home repair, and Santander, a local bank, refused to facilitate a Visa cash advance simply because I wasn’t their customer.
This is a basic service that all banks in the Visa system are required to provide, yet Santander turned me away at a critical moment. Their actions highlight a significant failure—choosing rigid policy over serving the community.
Santander’s decision shows that they value commerce over community, which is disappointing for a long-time Staten Island resident like myself.

Real rude when I called,.. they picked up twice and hung up while I’m talking and never was able to call back again because no one would pick up

I really wish when you misplace your card that you can get a new one the same day. Super annoying to have to wait. No one else is like that and my favorite branch by my house closed. Bummer.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.I CANNOT WAIT TO CLOSE ALL MY ACCOUNTS. THEY ARE COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS.DO NOT BANK WITH THEM.
