“My son had a wonderful 3s teacher Miss Erin. She showed kindness and patience and was extremely supportive while he was learning to speak. He is currently in the UPK class with Miss Tonia and is learning so much and loves going to school to see all his teachers.”

“Absolutely amazing place for kids to grow. I love the progression from Mommy and Me classes into their first time at school programs. Ms. Lucie, Ms.Fran and Ms.Beth have worked with all 3 of my children over the years, two of which have been diagnosed with autism. They always created a warm and inviting environment while offering professional advice and strategies to help us as parents navigate the toddler years! Most recently, I had a birthday party for my daughter that was turning 4. She is autistic as are many of her friends, so we weren't sure how everyone would do being this was most first experience at a friends birthday party. Every child was full of smiles , not a single meltdown! The teachers truly respected their needs and created an environment that was enjoyable for all. From planning to execution they made it the most stress free party planning experience for me! I would definitely recommend them for children under 6 yrs old.”

“I'm glad I found a teacher as patient, friendly and knowledgable as Ms. Yelena. My son is been taking lessons with her for almost two years. She tailors the sessions to his interests (games, movie themes. Etc) and encourages him to push his abilities.

I really recommend Staten Island Conservatory of Music. The director Ms. Georgette Ionesco is the best director in the world, she’s always supportive to the family and the students, really easy to talk to and tries hard to find you a good teacher that will suit you or your children. It was fantastic because I got the option of trying one teacher first to see how my son felt, they regularly checks in with you to see how you're doing and it is important to her that all the students are happy and I'm sure she would do her best if someone were to have a problem.

Our teacher is great and we get along well. I really like this school because it seems that all the teachers have very different personalities and teaching styles which means there is a teacher for everyone! The staff is so kind, helpful and always helps us to accommodate our schedules in pro of our kids improving”

“I had a great experience when I took a Ceramic Class. Ryan is an awesome teacher, he took his time to explain things calmly until we all understood all the proper techniques. Now I own several unique pieces…it was so much fun to create something from scratch!!!”

“Amazing staff , this is the first childcare my son has been too && it was an easy transition for both him and I . Amazing trustworthy staff , always seeing smiles. They keep you informed if something is wrong with your kid(s) , even if it’s something minor like a scratch . It’s a hidden gem in the community. 10/10 would recommend.”

“My little lady started in 2018 and sadly ended her study there due to COVID in 2020. Miss Vicki, Miss Trish, Miss Jacqui, Miss Keri and Miss Randi all made her feel at home for the 3 years she was here. She learned colors, shapes, how to hold a pencil and the basics of reading. She learned how to share, how to make friends and how to say hello in sign language. I often wonder how much more she would have learned if the lockdown hadn’t happened. This place is so very special and everyone cares for all the kids who come through their doors. My daughter’s time there was cut short, but they made sure she and all her classmates had weekly worksheets and videos to help them along during the lockdown. They even held a “drive by” stepping up ceremony. This is a top notch school with the best teachers! Would recommend to anyone!”

“I am really happy my daughter went there. I was extremely anxious when my daughter started day care (to be honest, it was heart-breaking leaving her, when she couldn't even talk much, with strangers). After a while, my anxiety subsided. Teachers are nice and caring, and the environment is very gentle. She made friends. Another highly important aspect is cameras. I could keep an eye on my child and ensure that she was ok. I highly recommend this day care.”

“My son has been attending KA for just over a year and he absolutely loves it there, as do I. He started when he was 1 and while he transitioned to being in daycare, the teachers were loving and warm. It was a relief to me that he felt safe and cared for. During thunderstorms, I would see him cuddled up in the teachers lap. As he got more comfortable, his language exploded and we are amazed by the things he says at 2 years old. He comes home with cute crafts and will often tell me "I had fun!" when I pick him up. All of the teachers say hello to us when they see me at drop off or pick up and are overall very welcoming. Pat, the assistant director, is an absolute gem of a person. I was a nervous wreck as a first time mom sending my son to daycare but she comforted me and never made me felt overbearing or annoying with my questions. Kathi, the director, started a few months after my son and you can see how much she really loves the kids and also cares about their family. We are moving next month and we are SO sad to have to pull our son out of KA into a new daycare. I truly feel comfortable with my son in their care and more importantly, he feels safe, cared for, and is having a ton of fun while learning.”

“My daughter was here 3x a week from 2-3 years old and not once did she ever not want to go to school. It was actually the opposite - she used to ask to go to school on the days she stayed home. Now that she is in 3k, she is constantly asking to go back to Little Excellence. She had an excellent experience with Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Millie (and so did mom and dad). It was a terrifying process to choose Little Excellence and leave our first child there but I am so glad we did. We experienced excellent communication from the school and constant contact. Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Millie were so endearing and loving to our little girl. We couldn't be more grateful.”

“Pretty good school in my opinion!I went here from pre-k all the way through 5th grade, both my parents and I enjoyed my Christian education and the amazing teachers and staff at the academy. During those years I was there, the classrooms were warm and welcoming, the cafeteria and gymnasium/auditorium was always kept clean and neat. The curriculum I was taught during those times were pretty good, perhaps more emphasis on the math or science concepts would have been more beneficial leading into middle school but overall I felt I have always learned so much each day. The teachers and staff members have instilled good values in me and students there as well.Although I wished there were always more organized team sports or athletics in the past, I do see the school has made continuous efforts and formed competitive basketball and archery teams recently. Something I believe would make the school better is to have a more diverse student population of different ethnicities and backgrounds. A diverse student population helps young students learn about having an open mindset that would ultimately prepare them for the real world.I have made a lot of long lasting friends at Gateway and still keep in touch with many of my teachers today! I would recommend this school if you are a family who enjoys a friendly atmosphere than compared to other larger private schools around Staten Island.”

“I do wish more parents put some honest reviews because this is a school for children with special needs and we deserve to know the input from more parents. I do wish the staff did interact more with the parents on a more personal level. I must say the school is extremely clean and well maintained with its appliances, rec center toys and bathrooms etc. everything looks new and in great working order. The staff are very on top of a regiment. A few things I don’t particularly like. I noticed the kids wait on the bus prior to the staff coming out to get them from the bus and in my opinion they have the children waiting a bit too long as they as they are very young, and many wait on the bus all day early in the morning as it is. My main concern in which I dropped a star- as a parent I cannot walk my child into her classroom. Now I understand it can be a distraction. But I haven’t been allowed to as much pass the front doors without a No your not allowed to take them to their class! It’s a bit alarming I can’t see my daughter in her classroom setting unless I have a scheduled appointment. Nor can you pick your child up from the classroom. I must admit this to be a bit concerning. The parents are not allowed no where near the classrooms when class is in session. I can understand if they are undressing the kids in the classroom to change their diaper and it’s a privacy matter. Aside from that parents should once in a while at least be able to escort or pick up their child from the classroom itself. My other kids that were in pre k I was always allowed to pick up from their class or drop off directly to the classroom not have to wait outside and wait for my child to be escorted by a staff member only. The staff are nice but again it is not any personable relations. I truly believe they just believe their way of doing things structured the school and I get that but again in my opinion there should be more open to parent opinion, reasoning. More consistent communication with parents not just if they need something for your child. I heard there was a pta never got a notice or any information on it further. I write this to shed some light I do believe this school is filled with great structure but can use more compassion for the families is all. As parents this day and age many of us need the extra assurance especially when our kids are labeled special needs the parents need special attention as well ☺️. Thankyou for listening.”
