Great museum with so much to do! This is an under talked about part of NYC! We will definitely be back!

It wasn't bad, if it's true that you can see the museum in an hour.
We went to kill time, since we were in Staten Island to see the outlet and in the end it was also a disappointment.
We definitely lost a whole day.
If you go on a tight day and it is your first time in New York, I do not recommend visiting Staten Island, you will waste the entire morning or the afternoon, or the day if you do not organize it well.

Small but very nicely laid out and informative. Building renovations are stunning and environmentally minded.

Very small, pay as you wish but suggested $8pp. Should have paid less as it takes about 20min.

Not much to see in the museum. We thought we would see more of the history of Staten Island. There wasn't the case.

Beautiful small museum. Impeccably kept and easy to explore and accessible. On the second floor, the Staten Island SEEN art exhibit was very good. From their website: “The exhibition traces the borough’s unique history and landscape from the 17th century to the present.”Plenty of parking right behind the museum. Lots of bathrooms. $8 entrance fee.

This museum is trying to do too much and succeeds at nothing. It is simultaneously a natural history, American art, ancient art, and science museum but only has one room of each. This museum is obviously well funded compared to the rest of the area and I think the money would be better used elsewhere. Not worth the admission, go somewhere else instead.

The Staten Island Museum is top notch. We went to a food fest in one building which is in it's fourth year. Many local and nearby vendors. Cookies, butters, breads, and many others! Then walked the grounds which has greenhouses, gazebos, pagodas and many other buildings from early 1900's. Google the history. Then a stop at Eggers ice cream shop on the grounds. Where Santa is having pictures taken.Membership is recommended for locals, not expensive and free admission for a year.

I liked my time here, was nice a cool break from the heat outside too. It really isn't very big, but had some nice historic paintings from the area as well as some modern art. Would be nice to have more history about Staten Island.

Four small rooms is the exhibit, not worth driving to. The snug harbor park, and gardens is very nice and that would get 5 stars.
