Dr Joe is the best!! I've been taking my pups to see him for years, he has provided care for my babies from when they were weeks old and was there for us while they took their last breaths at a very elderly age. Very supportive & caring Dr (Joe), very supportive & knowledgeable team of Vet Techs, and the receptionists are always kind and informative. Thank you for years of service SIVG!

They have been taking excellent care of my dog who tore not 1 but 2 cruciate ligaments. My pup is not the easiest during vet visits, he has terrible anxiety. They handle him with such care and consideration. I’m so grateful for their service, from the vet techs, to Dr. Kessler, and front desk staff. They are always so friendly and caring, which makes a difficult situation much better to cope with. The surgeon they recommend has done an amazing job repairing the first and his recovery is going much better and faster than I anticipated. I could not be more grateful for their care during this most stressful time.

I took my cat, Ollie, to see Dr. Kessler at Staten Island veterinary group yesterday. The facility is so clean and the staff are very polite and attentive. I brought Ollie because he is losing a lot of weight. He is a sweet and gentle 16 year old cat and I was so worried that he would get extremely nervous, but Dr. Kessler and his staff were so calm and gentle with him. Dr Kessler gave him a very thorough exam and explained everything to us. Totally recommend SIVG!

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart almost two months after putting my beloved beagle, Bishop, down. Looking back on his last couple of months with us, part of me blames Staten Island Veterinary Group for Bishop's sickness and death. In late November of 2023, we had taken Bishop to the vet to address some issues he had had with an uncontrollable bladder. We were ready to do whatever was possible to fix the issue... he was 10 years old and we wanted to make sure Bishop can live as long and as healthy as possible.
As most people/petowners do, when there's something wrong we look to and trust doctors and veterinarians for answers. After some tests, Bishop was diagnosed with bladder stones and we were assured that the diagnosis is not serious and requires a straightforward solution: surgery. Given that any veterinary surgery is thousands of dollars and no vet gives you any financial leeway (like a payment plan) to prioritize your pet's health instead of what it costs, we had raised the four thousand dollars and booked his surgery for February of 2024.
We drop Bishop off in the morning, putting down a $2,000 deposit, hoping that when we see him again he'll be back to his normal self. A couple of hours later, the vet calls and tells us he can't perform the surgery because Bishop has late stage bladder cancer and it has already spread to his lungs. The funny part is when we came to pick Bishop up, there was still a couple of hundred dollar balance to pay before we can get Bishop. We paid this $2,500 for this vet to tell us Bishop has cancer, he's dying, and there's nothing we can do besides look for a specialist.
Ultimately, we had found an oncologist to see Bishop and try any treatment available to help his cancer. The oncologist had told us Bishop never had any bladder stones but instead it was a bladder tumor that has been growing for months. The cancer had taken his life about a month later. If it wasn't for the failure and incompetence of the Staten Island Veterinary Group, Bishop would not have been misdiagnosed, his cancer could have been caught and treated, and my best friend would still be alive today.
If you have the option to take your pet somewhere else or to get a second opinion, please do it - it might save your pet's life.

They stepped in and helped us when my cat suddenly began to have urinary issues. They helped, more importantly, by educating me on adding more moist food to her diet. The techs are also great- reaching out to check on her, after treatment!

Been a client for 20+ years, my dog woke up this morning suffering from Seizures and unable to walk. I called for an emergency appointment, I was told I have to wait until the next day because they were booked up. I told them he was not going to make it until tomorrow. They apologized and asked if I wanted to make an appointment.
After 20 years this is the treatment we receive? We had to take my dog to another Vet and had to put him down. In such a desperate time, I would have hoped my own Vet would help. Instead they turned their back on us. I will never bring any of my pets there. Totally disappointed and angry.

Wait was way long, arrived half an hour earlier and didn't get called to hour and half later, The waiting area is dangerous because there is no avoiding any attack, and the exterior in the front is very bad hard to park little area that is onerous need to make these issues addressed.

Lady at the front desk is so rude. told her its my first time there & she just yelled at me to give her my last name, with attitude. This was February 3rd 10:30AM , Lady on the Right desk. Definitely not welcoming at all. Never recommending this place.

Each time is a wonderful service. Thank you!!! Great doctors here. Great diagnostic on the spot each time. No guessing games. They do not play games to get your money like all other hospitals and vet clinics.
