“Paul is an excellent mechanic and I highly recommend him to do one off work such as he did to my classic car, a 1974 BMW 2002. he did a five speed transmission conversion which I would not trust many people to do. He did it expertly and quickly at a fair price. I recently went back for another problem that arose with the clutch. Again he was able to pinpoint the problem in a faulty crankshaft pilot bearing. Since the clutch parts were a little unusual and harder to obtain he allowed me to supply my own parts which many shops will not let you do Great experience with this shop. 12/27/16 Mike Katsoris”

“I can’t recommend Island Car Care enough. Finding an honest, knowledgeable mechanic you can truly trust is rare, but that’s exactly what you’ll find here. Danny and the entire team are professional, transparent, and genuinely care about their customers. They take the time to explain what your vehicle actually needs, never try to upsell unnecessary repairs, and consistently deliver high quality work at fair prices. From routine maintenance to more complex repairs, every experience has been smooth, efficient, and stress free. It’s refreshing to work with a shop that values integrity and customer service as much as technical expertise. If you’re looking for a reliable mechanic in Staten Island, Island Car Care is the place to go. They’ve earned a customer for life. Highly recommended!”

“I had an Obs Silverado transmission rebuilt back around 2010 at this shop and then I had another one rebuilt a couple months ago, it was by far the best price and I dropped my truck off at 3pm and picked it up the next day at 3pm. I've been to another big name transmission shop and they had my car for a week, charged 5k and I had to take it back multiple times. When I went to pick up my truck he showed me all my old parts and what was broken. Cost me $1000 less then three other shops I called and guaranteed the transmission for a year. Scottys definitely an honest man and you don't have to worry about being taken advantage of when you bring your car to his shop.”

“Sal is a straight shooter. Very busy shop. Prepare to leave it for a bit of time. Mechanics in transmissions are specialists, and the ones here are very good at what they do. Rebuilt transmission on 175k transmission, best decision to sustain the longevity of a very reliable vehicle besides the transmission and with prices of used and new cars these days, repairing an older vehicle with a trustworthy shop should be weighed heavily against the alternatives. Prices are fair, you're paying for quality here.”
