Excellent special occasion restaurant in a historic environment! The ambiance is cozy and romantic, the service is kind and attentive, and the food is seasonal and delicious. Upscale “farmhouse cooking” where every ingredient feels local and intentionally included. The menu changes frequently, so don’t expect the same thing each time. However, some of our favorites such as the trout rillettes and shishito peppers are available year round.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Butterfield in HH on Stone Ridge, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance and inviting decor set the stage for a memorable evening. The menu at Butterfield showcases a thoughtful selection of dishes, each a testament to the chef's commitment to quality and innovation. I opted for the pan-seared sea bass, a perfectly executed dish that combined flaky fish with a crisp skin, accompanied by a citrus-infused sauce that added a refreshing zing. The attention to detail in presentation was evident, making each plate a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The dessert selection was equally impressive, with the chocolate lava cake stealing the show. The decadent molten center oozed out with each indulgent spoonful, leaving me in dessert heaven.Service at Butterfield was impeccable – attentive without being intrusive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. While the prices reflect the high-end nature of the establishment, the quality of the ingredients and the culinary craftsmanship justify the cost. Butterfield at HH on Stone Ridge is a culinary gem, perfect for special occasions or anyone seeking an elevated dining experience. I look forward to my next visit to savor more of Butterfield's culinary creations.

Completely Dreadful ExperienceMy wife and I had dinner recently at Butterfield with two friends to celebrate our wedding ceremony earlier that day. I made sure to inform the restaurant when I made reservations the special reason for our dinner. This information fell on deaf ears, as no recognition was advanced to our party by any member of the staff, the first of several communication breakdowns that evening.A dish of hard bread was placed on our table - definitely not the "focaccia" we were told it was - and the waiter immediately asked for our drinks order. When we politely asked to see a drinks menu first, he seemed taken aback and withdrew without a word. Not a good start. As far as the appetizers went, the smoked trout rillettes barely contained any roe, and the pilsner battered cauliflower tasted like takeout General Tso's chicken, oily and too sweet. The entrees were mediocre, save for the tagliatelle, which was a large mass of unseasoned noodles. The waiter never showed up to check on our meal, so we were three-quarters of the way finished before I managed to flag down a server from another section and request a salt shaker.Oh, and the cocktails we'd ordered with our entrees? They wouldn't arrive until all four of us were finished with dinner. In short, NYC prices for an amateur hour experience. Avoid Butterfield at all costs.

Overall, Butterfield was just ok. Food was good but nothing exceptional. Waitstaff was disorganized and we waited a long time for each course, as well as drinks. Overall I was expecting a better experience, especially for the price. I would probably not choose to come back.

Worst service I have ever experienced. The host seated us promptly for our 6:30 reservation and took our water order, that's where the service ended. We were not served our water, no server came to our table to introduce themself or take our drink order. After 40 mins without anyone even glancing in our direction so we could flag them down, we got up and left.Luckily an upscale restaurant in nearby Accord was able to take us without a reservation. The other restaurant was able to serve us drinks, appetizers, entrees and our check all within 90 mins of leaving Butterfield. In the end we were glad to have walked out of Butterfield as Inness had a more exciting menu, better decor, and exponentially better service.

Wonderful summer evening dinner at Butterfield— the outdoor dining space is beautiful with cute lights and a nice ambiance. Entrees were well proportioned and filled with local produce and meats. Highly recommend!

Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the area, for many years now. Last night we did have a nice dinner, however, it's necessary to review a few things. The watermelon salad was ridiculous. 6 cubes of watermelon with a pinky nail size of goat cheese and a 1/2 olive on top with a sliver of radish. Terribly uneventful. Same goes for the kale salad, uneventful. The previous kale salad was perfect. Why ruin a good thing, unless they have a new chef, which could explain the changes. They removed the best appetizer on the menu, the cauliflower. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious but the portion was pitiful for $32, an appetizer portion, not an entree portion. The pork rack was spectacular, and the tuna tacos were very tasty. Great room and the service is always hot or miss, last night was fine, although they did forget the bread order, no biggie. Love Butterfields but wish they were more on point and consistent. We will be back no doubt.

Service was horrendous. Started by walking in and having an older man (who worked there) yell at the hostess to not seat us even though we had a reservation for 730. Went for a birthday and the service ruined all celebrations. I was a party of 2 and watched multiple tables of 4 who sat after us receive drinks and food well before me. Waitress did not seem to care about the wait of our food and instead of checking on it she stood right next to me reordering bread plates for 10 mins. Asked the owner to please check on the food and drinks and while he said ok he never came back to check in and or hand us drinks/food. VERY DISAPPOINTED

While the ambiance is nice and the food was decent, the service was terrible and overshadowed the experience. Long waits for drinks, confused staff, plates that sat forever to be cleared. When we asked the manager to check on our food and drinks, he seemed annoyed, walked off and never came back. Several customers asked about the excessively dim lighting and wait staff replied - the owner likes it that. Definitely not worth the high prices.
