I will begin by saying that everyone who works at this hotel is lovely, the bartender is lovely and made delicious drinks. BUT, this hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. My room was small, stuffy, and kind of humid. The bed felt a little wet. The “mini bar” is a little tray in the window sill with canned drinks. The desk is a cheap little Walmart piece. The pool is dirty (literally coated in dirt on the bottom) and the bar continued playing music that could be heard from the room even when the bar was empty at the end of the night. I understand that this is an old hotel and the rooms may be small- all of that is fine but then don’t charge $500- $600 per night (not including breakfast btw). No amount of Aesop mini shampoos can make up for cheap upgrades. I come to hotels in the Hudson valley all the time and I unfortunately won’t be coming back here to stay.

Like some other reviews said, this has potential to be a wonderful luxury spot to enjoy in the area. The location is great, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. But when we arrived, no staff were to be found at the front desk and we could hear a number of them chatting away behind an employee only door. We were informed at arrival that our original room was double booked due to some system/software error and they switched us to another room. Wish we were informed of that BEFORE arriving given the rooms are not identical, so changing rooms can matter. The front desk employee didn't seem bothered or apologetic whatsoever, just merely telling us about the room change and nothing more. Frankly, the room we got in the Stable House was weird to me. It had a smaller bed than originally booked and a lofted space that wasn't really that usable and was awkward. No offer to help carry luggage - there are no elevators and the stairs are short and narrow so it would've been nice for them to do that. The property could also do with more lighting along the walkways at night since there's a lot of vegetation and the paths aren't really even. Overall, it was okay at best.

The place it's self was very nice. The restaurant/bar was nice but the food was extremely over priced and i would give it between a one or two out of 5 stars. Honestly very disappointed in the food. My order came out wrong and I couldn't eat it and I was still charged full price for it. We ordered at least half the menu and nothing was above average most plates were extremely small portions and poor quality.

We had a fantastic stay! Had a wonderful two-bedroom suite, which was perfect for traveling with siblings. Super affordable, too. Stay here!

I want to love Hasbrouck House, but it disappoints every time.
My most recent stay was in February. When I arrived the room temperature was adequate. However by the next morning the heat in the room had been turned off. The radiators were cold to the touch. We tried calling the front desk but no one ever answered nor returned my calls. The next two days the outside temps were no higher than 30 degrees yet the heat never came on. Shameful for the middle of winter. Do better, Hasbrouck House, you have so much potential.

Our room was huge! For 2 adults and 3 children we had tons of space. The rooms were very clean, the beds are comfortable with excellent pillows & linens. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was small but fresh. The coffee wasn't the best and I couldn't figure out how to work the in room nespresso. The bar was fantastic with amazing drinks. My children loved the game room.

First time staying at the Hasbrouck House. Very impressed I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this place. Stayed one night room #9. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out. The bathroom floors are heated. The robes are very nice. Small charming room had everything we needed. Everyone at the hotel were so nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Took advantage of the sauna. Very enjoyable stay.

Irresponsible owner/ staff with lucking hospitality, safety management, and cleanness. After experiencing so many inconvenience, my husband tried to reach out to them in person, by phone calls, and by email. 5 days have passed with no answers! Overall if I consider it as a motel, I could be okay, but I wouldn’t repeat at this price point and service quality. It feels overrated. I hope the owner will reply to my husband someday.

Hasbrouck house has been around a while but hasn’t kept up its facilities. Cost cutting seems obvious in the winter where attendants aren’t available, cleaning is subpar, and the food and kitchen service offered is very minimal. The upkeep of the rooms is not worth the price.

I booked Hasbrouck House as a quick weekend trip out the city for my birthday for my boyfriend and I. I booked a rate that included a discount on a couples massage and a bottle of champagne in the room. First, I had tried calling several times and no once did anyone pick up the phone. I sent a request online and was proceeded to be told a couples massage wasn’t available on our preferred Saturday but could be done on Sunday, with an extended check out time so we confirmed the massages for Sunday. On Saturday morning while having breakfast, I received a text that we were late for our massage and that the therapists would be leaving. I went to the front desk and was told that whoever booked our massage made a mistake, and booked it for Saturday morning. Because the massage therapists are sub contracted, they couldn’t book the massage the next day either so we were no longer able to get massages at all. This was extremely frustrating as I would’ve been happy to do the massage on Saturday but was explicitly told we couldn’t so I’m not sure how this mistake even happened. Also, to send a reminder for our massage 15 minutes past the time we were supposed to be there is not productive. No one even explained to us where on site the “treatment room” is. The front desk representative was apologetic but when I asked about the rate upon checkout to make sure I wasn’t being charged for the massages she seemed to dismiss me and obviously didn’t care about how they could’ve made up for the mistake. There is an intense lack of presence on site, which is okay for some people but personally not my preference. The rooms had stains on some of the furniture, and the beds and pillows were caved in and uncomfortable and I think need to be replaced. Lastly, the door to our room was broken and anyone could just push the door in and walk right in. I told the front desk and it was never fixed. Luckily it’s in a quiet and safe area so we weren’t too concerned about it. It is a really cute hotel and in a great location but unfortunately I do wish that we had stayed somewhere else during this trip.

I came here for a solo retreat over MLK weekend and was so impressed. The HH team has thought of every little detail and was so kind and accommodating. They allowed me to bring my dog who also had a blast and the surrounding area is so beautiful and charming. I HIGHLY recommend visiting Stone Ridge and staying as this comfy and beautiful inn.

Had an amazing weekend getaway from the city. The staff were really helpful and there are lots of things to do at the inn or in the nearby towns. Highly recommend and would come back again in the future!

My husband and I got married here on 9/14/24 and it was truly the best day ever! Working with Kelsey was truly such a pleasure- she was so helpful, her attention to detail was unmatched, and we are so grateful for her willingness to make our day come out exactly as we imagined! The day of the wedding was seamless, the food and drinks were perfect (not typical venue food, but truly restaurant quality), the staff was so accommodating and friendly, the rooms were beautiful, I could go on and on and on!!! Thank you so much, we can't wait to come back!

I had a really fantastic experience at Hasbrouck House where I stayed for a few days in early September. The common areas were well-designed, aesthetically pleasing, yet comfortable. The front receptionists were courteous, friendly, and very helpful. Be sure to ask for a map of the grounds (this was super helpful!). The grounds were well laid out, with lots of space to relax, and the lake was peaceful and serene. The room (Room 10) where I stayed was humungous, had a good layout, and the bed/pillows were comfortable. There were a few nature visitors (i.e. daddy long legs and beetles by the window) but the hotel is in the forest, so it's not that worrisome. Mind you, there is no elevator in the house, but the staff were very generous in carrying my suitcase up the stairs.
I had a delightful massage and the sauna (which I used multiple times) was transcendent and refreshing- must try if you are into that!
Some of the meals I had at Butterfield, like the burger, salmon, and chicken were delicious, but other of the entrees (like the steak) not so much.
For those coming up from NYC on Amtrack through Rhinecliff, I’d strongly suggest you i) arrange your cab in advance, wait times can run 20+ minutes ii) maybe pack on the lighter side because the Rhinecliff Amtrack stop requires the use of a stepping stool to get on and off the train onto the platform, and the Amrtak staff may help you with luggage on your arrival to Rhinecliff, but not necessarily on your departure from Rhinecliff.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend, especially if you are looking for a relaxed opportunity to commune with the outdoors and unwind.

This is my fourth stay here. Sadly, if there isn't a remarkable turnaround, this will be my last. The staff greeted us with a bit too much enthusiasm, as if this were a pep rally for the local upstate high school. There was lots of giggling and over-exuberance, so much so that it was considered a parody. The room, while cute and quaint, had a tv with no internet access, leaving us with basic cable tv. The remote control was scotch-taped together. Room service has been discontinued. The restaurant at one time was a very nice place with great ambience, service and delicious food. That too has left the building. The food was Applebee's quality at-best. Everything was deep fried, over-salted, and plated like I was at a cafeteria. The server was either high, drunk, or both and couldn't remember anything. She took our order, then 15 minutes later returned to take our order again! She didn't put it in the first time. She seemed confused the entire time. Very peculiar experience. First thing this morning, we attempt to make a coffee in the room, and the Nespresso machine hadn't been cleaned and descaled so it was inoperable. $400 a night for this place? To the owners of this hotel, you need to clean house, both literally, and figuratively. Get rid of the giggling high school staff and employ adults that are in the hospitality business. Your chef needs to go back to making onion rings at the local diner, and your bartender needs to go to rehab. Put the scotch tape away and buy a $250 smart tv for the rooms, clean the coffee makers, and for the love of God try and manage this place with a little pride and care. I've stayed here before and it was a magical experience. This time, we left immediately this morning as we were turned off completely by the experience. Shame on you.
