This place boasts a diverse and well-priced selection of home goods. It's a fantastic spot for finding everything you need for your home, from decor to seasonal items and beyond. It even sparked some great ideas for me. I'll definitely be returning. I also discovered numerous deals on gifts, thanks to their extensive assortment.

Lines always take forever, employees are rude and can't be bothered, stuff is scattered everywhere and unorganized. Pass!

Be prepared to look behind items if looking for something specific. Lately, it seems to be more of a Thrift Store as a good portion of items are broken in one fashion or another. They don't discount if asked, you have to wait for it to be put on Clearance, which is a sad display of broken items.

Unfriendly and unprofessional. My return was rejected, because I bought the item at homesense in Commack, NY. Nevertheless to say, the item was in the original condition, bought two days before and the receipt was included.

As an almost retired interior designer who frequents these stores regularly, I've seen my fair share of goings on. The management in this store are depraved. I don't bother the workers unless I need help with something heavy but I've seen managers called to the cashier for questions and returns. And every. Single. Time. I've seen customers treated like less than dirt. Even the cashiers look embarrassed that they work there. Sad people. Eventually they'll lose business if nothing is done to address it.

It’s a nice store. Clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing. But the selection is targeting a specific consumer. Basically they are selling cheaper versions of west elm and pottery barn items. So this is a good place to save money on some decent items. But not if you’re looking for the best quality, or the the bleeding edge in terms of style and aesthetics.

Perhaps the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Our intention was to stop in and make a purchase but while there return items we had purchased from another location. We were told that we couldn’t return the product, even though we had the receipt and the items on the receipt matched the items we were returning. They said that the item was originally tagged incorrectly and we would need to return to the original location. My wife was the one that tried to return them originally. After she informed me about what occurred, I went up to the front register to ask for a manager, only to find the entire staff talking about my wife. Completely unprofessional.

I recently purchased a rug at another HomeSense location which was lovely - that is until it began shedding all over my living room. Unfortunate, but no big deal. I packed it up and brought it to Stony Brook to return as it’s closer to my house. The cashier began complaining to a coworker about another rug return from the other location (evidently there have been several). They called the manager to inspect the rug and refused the return. Evidently the rug shedding was ok but the “black residue” which was CLEARLY a very minor amount of lint was not ok. The rug was not dirty. There was a small piece of lint from a pair of black socks caught in the wool. The rug was in a pet-free non smoking house and was not dirty. After accusing us of trying to return damaged merchandise loudly so all of the other shoppers could hear, manager Helen insisted that we could only return the rug to the location in which it was purchased. Clearly she did not want the return to count again her store’s numbers. Never did anyone at Stony Brook apologize for our inconvenience or the damage to our vacuum which has to be repaired after the insane shedding rug from hell. We brought it back to the purchase location and they took it back with no problem. Stay away from Stony Brook. Save yourself the headache and the nasty attitudes. Go to Commack instead as the employees are much nicer, helpful, and polite.

Going through the process of returning things is awful. The employees have no idea what they are talking about and aren't willing to help. They just seem so rude.
