Great burek.. hidden gem... 1 star reviewers seem quite thin skinned...please judge the food. People don't have to coddle you just because you buy their food. Service was fine, guys working hard into his retirementThank you George.Vegetarian options: Mushrooms burek and potatoes burek

The old man there is very very rude. One thing it is that they are not interested in selling to individuals, but other thing is to be rude!. A very angry man. It is like he hates living and every other living being.

OK here's my take on kind of a strange place. They're open in the morning and I see them carting out large trays of food, so I think they exist mainly for bulk orders. This explains why buying individual pastries is cheap and why they're usually out of things by the late morning. Does it explain why the old man doesn't seem interested in taking individual orders? Maybe. I dunno, I kind of find it funny to walk into a single room and be ignored. Either way, I keep coming back because the burek are great and cheap.

Just moved to the neighborhood. I walked in with my black husband because it smelled good & was very excited that they served burek. Being Albanian and coming from bushwick, I could never find burek.I wanted to order, but the old man was very rude and didn’t even pay attention to us. I had to scream to ask him if they accept card which they don’t. I won’t ever come here again. I live around the corner and I would have loved to been a loyal customer. But moving to this neighborhood opened my eyes to just how much racism is over here. Disgusting.

I came here with my black husband and the old man around the counter didn't even want to look or talk to us. I'm Albanian idiot. I would have loved to been a loyal customer. Pure racist. Didn't even get to try the burekas because I was so put off. But honestly it's the whole neighborhood. Horrible.

This is the kind of place that makes Sunnyside the special place that is- a real hidden gem! The spinach pie is the best I’ve ever tasted.

Been coming here for years the spinach pies are absolutely amazing I'll get a half dozen or more at a time. The muffins are just terrific also. There is not a huge variety of products here but everything is Madewell and very authentic and extremely good. Please try this local business.

Just popped in while doing laundry- got the Nutella crossaint and a small coffee. It's just a regular crossaint he fills with Nutella, but dang it's good! I have regrets over finishing it (lol) but if and when you're craving something easy and sweet it works! I've also had their spinach pie (a while ago) and I remember it being tasty too. Overall a solid local little bakery- support local!
