I’m so grateful to Sunnyside Community Services! My 86yr mom calls Jocelyn, her angel! My elderly parents now have a desperately needed aggressive advocate to help get care & accurate billing for my dads treatment after a bad fall & Parkinson”s. My mom has somewhere to go & feels she is not alone ?? The moral support & help to obtain & complete the right paperwork needed to coordinate Veterans, Medicare & insurance admin have saved our family $$ thousands & many hours of frustration. We cannot thank you enough!

Unprofessional. Coordinators waste time during their shifts and don’t follow up properly. I was part of their ghetto HHA training course and after ALL the work and onboarding and paperwork the coordinator never got back to me and I have yet to receive a case to work on. I haven’t been able to get ANY hours and they don’t ever have enough patients or hours for me and I never ended up being able to use my license with them. Shame

Absolutely shamefully mismanaged, incompetent, and uncaring agency-- inappropriate for any seniors you know that need anything. They provide close to zero service. They collect all kinds of private personal and medical information from Seniors, and one of their case managers even admitted that even if they are told a senior is in the *direst* situation, they don't do anything about it whatsoever after being told about it. They also completely ignore seniors medical conditions that they are constantly requesting information about. The whole place is Absurd and Unethical.Same case manager stated they mostly don't do anything but connect people with Meals on Wheels. Even that-- one of their supervisors said is not available to seniors in Queens. The only other thing any of their case managers said they ever do is sometimes provide a 3-hour per week sort of housekeeper, but if you look up the housekeeping agency they're using it's one star all the way on Yelp, with the most horrific reviews including some clients' relatives complaining that one of the housekeepers was having s-x with elderly uncle to get him to give her money, and even employees posting horrible reviews about what a horrible horrible company it is, etc.Sunnyside itself has at least one case manager that is so cognitively challenged she seems like she needs to be under professional care.So I guess if you too know a senior in need in Sunnyside Queens, you should let them know how severely and shamefully horrible this place is.Just look at the breakdown of how many 1 star reviews of Sunnyside Community Services are on this site as well.

Our experience with Sunnyside Community Services has been a positive one. Particularly with Shelly Ramkaran who is the coordinator for our mother, Rosa Ruiz. Shelly is very responsive and works with us to ensure our mother receives the quality of the care she deserves. Our mother is the most important person in our lives and Shelly truly understands this. She has demonstrated a very clear commitment to our mother's wellbeing and that has been evident in all our interactions with her. Shelly is by far the very best coordinator we've ever worker with!!! I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our aide, Maria Molina. I don't know what we would do without her!!! She cares for our mother the way she would her own and that is not easy to find these days. Maria engages with our mother in such a positive way and our mother responds in kind. Our mother always looks very happy and very well cared for whenever she is with Maria and that means the world to us as a family!!! We can't ever thank Shelly and Maria enough for all they do for our mother. They are to be commended for their caring, dedication, professionalism and commitment to providing an outstanding quality of care to their clients and an equally outstanding customer service experience to the families of their clients. We are extremely lucky and blessed to have them on our team!!!

RUDE staff. You can never get a hold of anyone and they call back on a blocked all. Speaking to one of the admin is a waste of time. There are other places.

Provide much needed support for elderly/caregivers. Absolutely the best especially during COVID time. Frank -our case supervisor was so dedicated. He called often to make sure our family was ok. He was very professional, caring, and always follow up. Always made you feel like you matter. Excellent job!!!

Terrible organization with atrocious service and even worse personnel! My grandmother was being released from the hospital and in desperate need of at-home care. This organization was hired to send aides to care for her from 8am - 8pm. The aides are inept - they cannot provide any of the help with ADLs that they are supposed to be there for (what we and Medicaid are paying them for). My grandmother is on oxygen and therefore cannot cook. This agency sends aides that refuse to cook for her. Or they claim they don't know how to use a microwave, make toast, and use the Keuring (literally the simplest things to do). They don't clean or help my grandmother change clothes. They are a waste of money. And they leave without making sure the next aide has arrived. And even worse than the aides is the customer service. I've spent countless hours on hold and left numerous unanswered voicemails. This place just doesn't care about elderly members of the community. Keep your loved ones away from Sunnyside if you want to keep them safe.

This fine organization has comprehensive services for seniors. Their social workers and excellent staff make sure each client receives individual attention. During the last year-and-a-half of COVID, they stepped up their game considerable to meet the challenges. Their outreach to the senior community has been a tremendous blessing and achievement.

Someone here called me at 4:30 in the morning. That is unacceptable. I called back and they had no idea what was going on. Do you know how frustrating it is to get woken up that early and then not be able to go back to sleep? Just because sometime has an easy coast number does not mean they live on the east coast. I've never had any dealings with this company before so it could be a scam...

I called SCS after my 85 yr old Mom passed from covid19. Diana Salerno was awesome. Even during a pandemic she answered the phone on the 2nd ring. She offered such promising help with my 88 yr old Dad. Things were dire since Dad tested (+). Although he was asymptomatic, he was a threat to others. Ms Salerno gave my details to Joaquin Burgos. He called me and identified himself as Dad's Case Manager. That's when my Dad's life changed for the better.Mr Burgos and Shelia Williams worked together keeping on top of changing details.Ms Williams agreed to send an aide in less than 40 hours. I can't believe how quickly Mr Burgos and Ms Williams worked (on a weekend )to ensure that help was on the way.Dad is in great hands thanks to Mr Burgos and Ms Williams. They truly are part of an amazing asset to our community. On behalf of the Connolly family, many thanks to all the hard working folks who make Sunnyside Community Services the amazing asset it is to Sunnyside and all of Queens.

I got off on the wrong foot with this company due to some things I personally did not like but to each its' own. I wrote a review and personally received a call from a supervisor almost instantaneously. She let me vent and then went on to debate her issues in the most professional way, on why things were the way they were and I definitely see a clearer picture now. She helped me get an aid to cover hours that I needed. Their services ended after a month due to funding which is on the state and not them.

It was two years ago. I was caring for two sick, elderly parents. I went to the center looking for a support group for myself to join. What I got was a high pressured sale of their home healthcare agency. When my parents decide that they were not interested, I had a home visit by one of their social workers. The man could barely speak English. He called and I could not understand a word he said. My father let him in the apartment, I was in bed nursing a migraine. I got up and was confronted by a six foot tall black man. I had no idea who he was. I was shocked that he was looking aound and criticizing my efforts as a homemaker.
